What to Expect
The Semi Outbound Logistics team is advancing Tesla's mission of accelerating the transition to sustainable energy through the deployment of Class 8 trucks at scale by delivering them to our customers timely and efficiently. As a supervisor in Outbound Logistics on the Tesla Semi team, you will play a critical part in the delivery of the Tesla Semi and help shape the customers' first impression of the product. Responsibilities include managing the movement of outbound trucks for delivery. The position will manage building and managing the team of associates that move the trucks prior to delivery as well as the execution process as we ramp up production volumes. The Associate Manager role is onsite in Sparks, Nevada may require travel about 10% of the time.

What You'll Do
  • Co-ordinate schedule and availability delivery of single units. Pair units into loads for decking, balancing service and cost, and capacity
  • Tender loads to appropriate carriers through the Tesla TMS system
  • Participate in carrier management processes, such as selection, qualification, and performance evaluation
  • Implement specific internal customer requirements, such as internal reporting or customized transportation metrics, and communication protocols
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes
  • Analyze the financial impact of proposed logistics changes, such as schedule compression, routing, shipping modes, product volumes or carriers

What You'll Bring
  • Minimum 5-7 years' experience in operations and / or supply chain related functions
  • Extensive knowledge of vehicle logistics and specialty equipment. Preference given to those in vehicle/ truck delivery
  • Very good working knowledge of U.S. geography and highway system
  • Hands-on team leadership skills in motivating and developing individuals and teams
  • Leadership with complex, cross functional, global projects including setting scope, reaching consensus, leading execution and driving results
  • Mentoring skills and the ability to accept and delegate responsibilities
  • Evidence of customer-focused, both internal and external, and result-oriented management style Ability to communicate effectively with customers
