Job Description
The Landscape Supervisor is responsible for the full scope landscape management for the entire 72-acre NCED Campus including pond. Maintaining proper staffing, work schedules, quality performance, safety training, operational training, irrigation system, landscape design, turf/ornamental pest management, environmental management, equipment maintenance, chemical and supply management, and licensed pesticide application are key elements of this position. Landscape personnel assist municipal/utility groups with repair, cleanup, installation, and replacement of utility lines. Responsibilities also include maintaining the sports field and ROPES course. Seasonal snow removal in parking lot and around building is also part of the Landscape Supervisor's job.

Duties and Responsibilities

Landscape Supervisor is responsible for the 72-acre grounds (including area around the CC&H building, pool area, and the two courtyards) at the facilities to maintain a neat appearance at all times to include, but not be limited to:

* Mow lawns to maintain a grass height governed by seasonal requirements during growing and nongrowing
seasons. All lawns will be mowed during the same interval
* Plant seasonal plant material in beds and planters at appropriate time to present an inviting appearance for the occupants, USPS, and external guests
* Trim around trees, shrubs, fences, monuments, flagpoles, walls, curbs and concrete walks
* Control and eradicate weeds
* Water shrubs, trees, planters, and lawn areas
* Rake and remove leaves from fence areas, shrub beds, flower beds, turf areas, sidewalks, gutters, roadways, and other surfaces shall be free of leaves
* Fertilize all lawn areas
* Trim hedges and shrubs, trees
* Aerate soil once a year
* Maintain sprinkler system
* Responsible for an Insect and Disease program that shall be preventive as well as remedial
* Snow removal and exterior surface treatment to maintain safe conditions for vehicles, guests, and employees
* Seasonal planting and planned enhancements
* Herbicides and pesticides must be applied by state licensed individuals only
* Maintenance of geese nests and eggs must be performed by state licensed individuals only
* Maintain water retention pond to an aesthetically pleasing appearance and healthy aquatic state
* Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Skills and Qualifications

* High school graduate or GED
* Must have or be able to obtain Oklahoma Pesticide Certification thru the Oklahoma Agriculture, Food and Forestry Department
* Should have training regarding safety practices for using landscaping equipment, pesticides, and other chemicals
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail is a top priority
* Must share a commitment to maintaining a positive, collaborative work environment while simultaneously optimizing individual performance and contribution
* Previous landscaping experience and the flexibility to supervise seasonal and temporary work crews is necessary
* Good customer service skills are also required for working with clients
* Must past drug screen and OSBI background check

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

* The work of this position is performed almost entirely outside
* Must be capable of working outside in the heat and cold for extended periods of time
* Must be able to lift 70 pounds unassisted

Terms of Employment and Eligibility Requirements

* Must be a US Citizen
* Must be at least 18 years of age
* Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
* Must possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictions
* Must pass pre-employment background screening
* Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and periodic retests
* Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
