What You'll Do

As Payroll Manager, you'll manage endtoend payroll operations-processing accurate biweekly payrolls, maintaining compliant records, and partnering closely with HR and Accounting. You'll safeguard tax, withholding, and benefit deductions; lead filings and registrations; and deliver a responsive, helpful experience for colleagues across the firm.



  • Manage SSR's payroll system and procedures; ensure compliance with applicable laws and tax obligations and maintain accurate payroll records.
  • Coordinate employee information with HR and benefit providers to keep HRIS and payroll systems aligned and accurate.
  • Process biweekly payroll changes, additions, and deletions in ADP; ensure ERP and ADP updates are consistent.
  • Administer annual raise cycle, annual benefits enrollment, and bonus processing in both ERP and ADP.
  • Oversee electronic timesheets-timeliness, proper approvals, completeness, and accuracy; train new employees and assist with issues.
  • Maintain required employee payroll records per the Document Retention policy; manage ADP Online Employee Payment System support.
  • Reconcile internal FSA and dependentcare accounts; administer and reconcile HSA employee and employer contributions.
  • Compile and upload 401(k) contributions to the profitsharing vendor biweekly; coordinate with providers as needed.
  • Prepare and enter payroll journal entries; complete monthly reconciliations for all payrollrelated GL accounts.
  • Partner with HR and employees on leaves of absence; ensure correct time recording and benefit repayment handling.
  • Manage state and local tax withholding registrations and filings; research regulations and ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate workers' compensation and other thirdparty audits; manage W2 income inclusion processes and yearend W2 review/distribution.
  • Document and maintain payroll policies and procedures; evaluate processes for optimization and efficiency.
  • Track employee worklocation information in ERP and payroll systems; prepare internal management reports as requested.
  • Assist with obtaining visas for international employees as needed; perform other duties as assigned.



Who We're Looking For

Minimum Requirements:



  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school OR
  • Payroll Manager Certification OR
  • High school/GED equivalent with three or more years related experience and/or training
  • College degree is preferred
  • Prior experience with ADP is required



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office; familiarity with GL, payroll processing, benefits, and employee withholdings.
  • Experience with ADP and strong understanding of payroll tax laws.
  • Exceptional organization and deadline discipline; accurate, confidential recordkeeping.
  • Clear written and verbal communication; strong interpersonal skills and customer focus.
  • Analytical problemsolver able to interpret data, investigate anomalies, and improve processes.
