The Automated Enforcement Unit (AEU) is part of the Division of Traffic Operations at the NYC Department of Transportation. AEU manages four automated enforcement programs: red light, bus lane, speed, and Weigh-in-Motion (WIM). Automated enforcement is a core component of the Mayor's Vision Zero initiative, and recent legislative changes require rapid program expansion and modernization. Minimum Qualifications 1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or Preferred Skills
-Strong communication skills and ability to explain program information clearly to stakeholders. -Experience coordinating with community groups, government partners, or elected officials. -Ability to track, organize, and follow up on requests and inquiries. -Familiarity with transportation, public safety, or equity-focused programs preferred. -Strong judgment and ability to work independently while coordinating with technical staff. -Comfortable working across teams and managing multiple priorities. -Proficiency with basic data and tracking tools. New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment.
