  • The pay rate for this role is $22.75 an hour to start
  • $2.00 shift differential between the hours of 5:30pm to 5:30am

    • 5:30am - 5:30pm
    • Monday - Wednesday
    • Workdays and hours may vary depending on operational needs; occasional overtime and weekend work may be required

Here's a snapshot of what you'll do:

The Quality Assurance Lab Technician is responsible for monitoring the quality of manufactured foam products and raw materials by conducting chemical and physical testing of materials in preparation for final release.

The Quality Assurance Lab Technician also assists with development and implementation of new procedures, standards and specifications as required by ISO Quality Management Systems.




  • Performs chemical and physical testing of aqueous media and pre-polymer batches prior to release of materials for production; as well as post processing testing of finished goods in accordance with customer and internal sampling plans.
  • Performs incoming raw material inspections to check for compliance with company specifications
  • Performs validation testing and raw material evaluation plan as required.
  • Performs instrument calibrations as required.
  • Maintains and reviews quality documents for accuracy and compliance with ISO standards and ensure availability at point of use.
  • Performs the storage and retrieval of retained product samples.
  • Routinely makes observations of the pre-polymer and foam line production processes. Reports non-conforming findings to the supervisor.
  • Monitors changes to standard operating procedures and make recommendations for improvements to those processes.
  • Prepares required product certificates for and assists with final product verifications prior to shipment.
  • Interfaces with internal staff to resolve quality system issues and complaints.
  • Performs internal audits of other departments.
  • Creates/generates standard and ad hoc reports regarding product quality.
  • Supports the effort to implement best practices within job scope; expected to participate in activities designed to improve production, quality and Environmental Health and safety (EHS).
  • Determine when discovered non-conformances require escalation in collaboration with Supervisor/Engineer.
  • Recommend changes to work instructions or testing protocols based on observed inefficiencies or recurring issues.
  • Decide whether to approve or reject raw materials and finished goods based on test results and specifications.





What you'll need:




  • Proven success working in a team-based environment as well as the ability to meet performance measures with minimal direct supervision and guidance
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office Software.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Possess strong ability to perform detailed repetitive tasks with precision.
  • Ability to make well-reasoned decisions both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work overtime to ensure production goals are met
  • Over 75% of the workdays are spent walking or standing
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Regular handling, lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing, reaching, and grasping
  • Close vision and color vision are required
  • Ability to wear a respirator
  • Experience in production, manufacturing or related environment preferred, but not required.



PLEASE NOTE: This position's functional demands require working around or near equipment that may be hazardous to individuals with pacemaker equipment.
