Overview

DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a Senior Systems Architect to support our U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) Integrated Booking System (IBS) program. This role is responsible for defining and maintaining the overall system architecture, ensuring that all components of the IBS system are integrated, scalable, secure, and aligned with mission requirements.

The Senior Systems Architect serves as the technical authority for system design, working across development, infrastructure, data, and cybersecurity teams to ensure cohesive and effective system solutions. This role plays a critical part in guiding system evolution, supporting sustainment activities, and ensuring alignment with USTRANSCOM objectives.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in enterprise system architecture, strong technical leadership skills, and the ability to balance system performance, security, and maintainability.



Duties & Responsibilities

    Define and maintain the end-to-end system architecture for the IBS program
  • Ensure alignment across application, infrastructure, data, and security architectures
  • Lead design and integration of system components, interfaces, and services
  • Collaborate with developers, system administrators, DBAs, and cybersecurity teams
  • Evaluate and guide implementation of system enhancements and changes
  • Ensure system architecture supports scalability, performance, and reliability
  • Provide technical oversight for system integration and interoperability
  • Support troubleshooting of complex system-level issues
  • Ensure compliance with DoD standards, including RMF and STIGs
  • Maintain architecture diagrams, system designs, and technical standards
  • Support system upgrades, migrations, and modernization efforts
  • Provide technical guidance to program leadership and stakeholders
  • Participate in architecture reviews and technical working groups


Qualifications

  • Active Secret Clearance
  • IAT Level II certification (CompTIA Security+ CE preferred)
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in systems engineering or architecture
  • Experience designing complex enterprise systems
  • Strong understanding of system integration and distributed systems
  • Experience across application, infrastructure, data, and security domains
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting USTRANSCOM or DoD systems
  • Experience with AWS or cloud architectures
  • Familiarity with microservices architectures
  • Experience in DevSecOps environments
  • Knowledge of data architecture and databases
  • Experience with system modernization efforts
