Position Summary:

This role leads and manages the strategic design and development of learning and development solutions for Hannaford, including instructor-led, in-person and virtual classrooms, eLearning, tailored group learning, and key organizational initiatives. The Manager of Learning & Development ensures the learner experience and solutions are aligned with organizational goals and priorities as well as organizational development (OD) and associate development strategies. This role is designed to serve as a key consult and facilitator for home office associate and team learning, and trusted partner to our retail HRBP team, aligning/supporting learning priorities & solutions for our store managers and teams.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a trusted subject matter expert (SME), facilitator and consultant to home office teams, providing expertise in L&D to enhance associate learning and team effectiveness.
  • Design engaging courses and workshops that align with organizational priorities and support a culture of continuous learning. Package these courses and programs to HRBPs, ensuring content is aligned with retail operations L&D needs. Train HRBPs on how to facilitate with SMs.
  • Regularly partner with HRBPs across retail and the home office to understand effectiveness of learning and development programs; make intentional changes based on associate feedback.
  • Explore, assess, and implement new and existing digital learning and development tools and technologies to enhance and support the varied needs of associates and people managers.
  • Collaborate with Manager of People and Organizational Development and HR Leadership team to ensure programs and courses are built in alignment with the current and anticipated business priorities and competency needs.
  • Identify performance gaps, analyze learning needs, design and develop learning solutions that result in sustainable improved associate performance across Hannaford.
  • Act as a social mentor and curator of knowledge, building and leveraging network connections to foster a learning culture within the organization.
  • Key resource for associate development and growth action plans; key resource for facilitating team-based development needs.
  • Work closely with L&D Instructional Design Specialist, offering direction, guidance, coaching and feedback. Removing roadblocks, fostering quality, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Overall management and execution of sustainable learning and development solutions:
    • Analyze: ask critical questions to identify the business learning needs and objectives.
    • Design: translate business learning needs/objectives into innovative, consistent and sustainable learning solutions.
    • Development: partner with Instructional Design Specialist to build all forms of instruction using a wide range of tools (instructor-led training, eLearning, SharePoint resources, etc)
    • Implementation: partner with appropriate resources to ensure consistency in the execution of learning solutions.
    • Evaluation: solicit for feedback, determine impact, and leverage findings to increase effectiveness and influence sustained change.
  • Support the Hannaford HR Team as a thought partner on key initiatives across all areas: associate relations, total rewards, internal communications, compliance, talent etc.
  • Responsible for the management of multiple, concurrent projects, including organizing resources for development and implementation, monitoring project activities, evaluating output and impact on the business, and leveraging the ADUSA Learning Teams for development.
  • Facilitate and support onsite (Home Office) and offsite (District, Retail Stores, Special Events).
  • Administrator and facilitator of talent and assessments (Ex., 360, DPPI, Insights).
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule, with 3 days in office at Scarbrough, ME headquarters.

Qualifications and Experience:

> Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

> 3-5 years experience in design, development, implementation & measurement of learning solutions.

> Proficient in Office365 software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneNote, PowerBI etc.)

> Ability to serve as a companywide resource for Learning and Development.

> Proven understanding of business strategy.

Preferred:

> Corporate Learning and Development experience preferred.

> Strong working knowledge/experience with adult learning methodologies.

> Strong technological skills; ability to embrace, learn, and adapt to new technologies.

> Familiarity with LMS software, and/or SuccessFactors, Fierce Conversations, Insights TM a plus.

> Retail and/or grocery industry experience a plus.

> Strong passion for learning and development; proven effectiveness in cultivating engaging learning environments and programs based in adult learning theory that inspire & equip others to learn & grow.

> Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills with peers and leaders at all levels.

> Exceptional facilitation skills in both 'formal' and 'informal' settings and groups of all sizes; including one-on-one, classrooms, and larger events (leadership summits and other key company initiatives.)

> Self-motivated to meet and manage multiple deadlines and objectives effectively and successfully.

> Strong ability to effectively plan, manage and execute on strategy with purpose and pace while also demonstrating agility to pivot/adapt to shifts in priorities or resources (ex., time, team, or budget).

The Salary Range for this Position is $92,640 - $138,960
