Moog's Space & Defense - Power & Data group is seeking an Operations Program Manager in Highland Heights, OH or Cleveland, OH. The Operations Program Manager (OPM) manages the operational planning, coordination, and execution of large-scale, complex, and high-profile customer programs to ensure successful product delivery.

This full-time salaried job is a handson, onsite position reporting to the Director of Operations and directly influences product quality, manufacturability, delivery performance, and overall customer satisfaction. This role serves as a liaison between Sales, Product Management, Design Engineering, Production, Logistics, and Quality to ensure operational capabilities, readiness, and execution align with program requirements and customer expectations.

The OPM anticipates operational needs, drives program schedules, facilitates crossfunctional readiness, risk mitigation and issue resolution to ensure programs launch and scale predictably. This role also manages the execution of product Return (RMA) and Service (SVC) processes.

As an Operations Program Manager, you will:

Program Management

  • Leads the operational planning, coordination, and execution of large, complex customer programs for on-time program launch performance.
  • Leads transition from design to production, ensuring manufacturability and supply chain readiness.
  • Serves as the primary liaison between operational teams (i.e., Production, Process Engineering, Logistics) and other program stakeholders (i.e., Design Engineering, Product Management, Sales).
  • Establishes and maintains program schedules, material readiness, cost reduction, and risk mitigation plans.
  • Facilitates cross-functional meetings to surface risks, resolve constraints, and support decision-making.
  • Reviews operational capabilities and capacities to ensure they align with program requirements and customer expectations.
  • Coordinates transition between development, pilot, and production phases to enable smooth launch and scale-up, in line with customer expectations.
  • Monitors progress, escalate critical issues, and drive corrective actions to maintain program timelines and customer satisfaction.
  • Represents Operations in customer engagements, technical reviews, and business discussions.
  • Regular internal contact with all levels of management, support staff, and technicians
  • Direct external contacts which includes customers and vendors

Operational Improvement Coordination

  • Communicates expected operational needs to the appropriate teams, facilitating proactive capability improvements.
  • Identifies operational risks related to supply chain, manufacturing, compliance, logistics, and quality, and helps implement mitigation plans.
  • Coordinates datadriven improvement approaches across production, supply chain, and engineering.
  • Analyzes operational performance data to recommend process improvements that result in variance reduction in operational readiness timelines, cost reductions, and efficiency gains.
  • Leads the implementation of operational best practices, standards, and tools to enhance scalability, program delivery, and drive standardization of program management and readiness processes.
  • Identifies emerging trends and lessons learned across programs to drive institutional knowledge and process standardization.
  • Applies knowledge gained from completed and ongoing customer programs to aide operations leaders on continuous improvement efforts and strategic planning.

Return (RMA) and Service (SVC) Process Execution

  • Owns and manages the company's product return, service, and repair processes.
  • Completes initial inspection, analysis, and rework of RMAs and Services within their skill set and offers support to Design and Process Engineers to complete tasks beyond their capabilities.
  • Partners with Product Management and Engineering to identify designrelated failure trends and corrective action processes to reduce return rates.
  • Tracks return trends, failure modes, and service metrics to drive improvements in quality, reliability, and customer experience.
  • Interfaces with Engineering and Quality teams to address root causes and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • Develops and refines service workflows, documentation, and internal procedures to improve RMA turnaround time and cost efficiency.

  • Demonstrates excellent organizational and planning skills to coordinate complex, cross-functional customer programs and deliver results against defined timelines.
  • Shows strong commercial and operational awareness when assessing manufacturability, capacity, compliance, and service implications for customer programs.
  • Consistently uses analytical, data-driven decision making to evaluate operational performance, identify risks, and recommend improvements.
  • Consistently implement solutions that enhance scalability, quality, and cost efficiency by identifying operational gaps and improvement opportunities, proactively, and collaborating with relevant teams.
  • Demonstrates strong, effective working relationships with cross-functional teams and customers that support a collaborative and solution-focused culture.
  • Ensures defined work output is completed on time and within budget.
  • Communicates project statuses to internal leadership and customers at the agreed upon intervals and ensures the integrity of all data captured and reported.
  • Exemplifies Moog's core values, serves as a role model, and conducts oneself professionally, ethically, and with integrity.
  • Increases both personal and industry knowledge by reviewing trade journals, industry trends, aerospace market initiatives, and key customer trends.
  • Applies knowledge and expertise to enhance the Department's capabilities and achieve departmental or organizational objectives.
General Accountabilities
  • Compliance with all safety, AS9100, ATEX, ISO Quality, and other regulatory requirements throughout program lifecycle.
  • Compliance with Moog's operating policies and procedures.
  • Cross-functional communications in support of company goals.
  • Adherence to standard workdays and workhours recognizing there are times when longer hours and/or weekend work may be needed to help meet Customer and Company expectations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

To be considered for the Operations Program Manager role, here's what you'll typically need to bring with you:

  • Bachelor's degree is required (e.g., business administration, program management, operations management, or a relevant engineering field where relevant education and experience has been acquired).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management or product management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a multi-task, fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with the use of standard office productivity tools and equipment (i.e., basic keyboarding skills, Microsoft Suite, specifically Excel).
  • Proficient in analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and critical thinking skills.
  • Highly proficient in writing, verbally communicating, and presenting to various types of audiences.
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with others in a positive, calm, and patient manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, coordinate crossfunctional teams, and drive operational readiness.
  • Ability to drive results through others with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to build relationships, internally and externally, and work across diverse groups and functional areas in a collaborative manner.
  • Conducts oneself with a high level of professionalism and personal integrity.
  • Ability to work onsite and travel occasionally to customers and vendors.

It'd be great if you also had:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in military or aerospace fiber optics, electronics, or optoelectronics preferred.
  • Experience working in an ISO9001 or AS9100 environment preferred.
  • Project Management certification (i.e., CAPM, PMP) preferred.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems preferred.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies preferred.

Salary Range Transparency:

Cleveland, OH $90,000.00-$120,000.00 Annually

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
