Manufacturing Engineer - Laser Manufacturing

Location: Oxford, MA (On-site)

The Manufacturing Engineer will work directly with core technologies in a hands-on high volume laser diode manufacturing/testing environment, and be responsible for the maintenance, control and improvement of a variety of innovative semiconductor laser testing methods and processes.

Areas of focus will be to support the manufacturing process of high power fiber coupled laser diodes, semiconductor lasers manufacturing process, performance evaluation, and qualification testing.

Responsibilities:



  • Manufacturing process execution and control
  • Hands-on device testing and process development
  • Support experiments for improving processes or procedures such as yield, repeatability, and performance of tools and/or processes
  • Documenting the manufacturing processes and procedures
  • Understanding, participating in and scheduling production equipment preventative maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Inventory control and planning of stock items needed for repairs/production support


Requirements:



  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Attention to detail and an ability to absorb and integrate new information rapidly
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-task, team environment
  • Knowledge, experience with various electro-optical device testing techniques ideally semiconductor laser diodes
  • Knowledge of electromechanical, electro-optical systems
  • Knowledge of statistical process control principles and techniques
  • Electro-optical device testing background in the semiconductor or related field
  • Ability to collaborate with manufacturing personnel and vendors
  • Programming skill and automation experience is preferred


Education:



  • B.S., or M.S. degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Material Science Engineering, or related field.
  • Previously completed internship preferred
