Pay range:$120K to $130K base

Overview

Our client, a leading investment banking firm, is seeking a Manager, Payroll Tax Compliance to oversee payroll tax operations across the U.S. and Canada. This role is ideal for a hands-on payroll leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and brings both technical expertise and strong people management skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee payroll tax compliance for U.S. and Canadian operations
  • Lead the end-to-end payroll process, including processing and running payroll
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of all payroll taxes and regulatory reporting
  • Supervise and mentor a payroll team, providing leadership and development
  • Partner with internal stakeholders (HR, Finance, Accounting) to ensure seamless payroll operations
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, provincial, and local regulations
  • Support audits, reconciliations, and reporting activities
  • Drive process improvements and system efficiencies (including Workday, if applicable)
  • Build strong relationships with internal clients and external vendors
  • Travel as needed within the U.S. and Canada
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of payroll experience, including hands-on processing
  • Proven people management experience in a payroll environment
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. and Canadian payroll tax compliance
  • Solid understanding of payroll accounting principles
  • Experience with Workday preferred
  • FPC or CPP certification preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
