Client: Investment Banking firm Location: NYC Pay range:$120K to $130K base Overview Our client, a leading investment banking firm, is seeking a Manager, Payroll Tax Compliance to oversee payroll tax operations across the U.S. and Canada. This role is ideal for a hands-on payroll leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and brings both technical expertise and strong people management skills. Key Responsibilities Manage and oversee payroll tax compliance for U.S. and Canadian operations Lead the end-to-end payroll process, including processing and running payroll Ensure timely and accurate filing of all payroll taxes and regulatory reporting Supervise and mentor a payroll team, providing leadership and development Partner with internal stakeholders (HR, Finance, Accounting) to ensure seamless payroll operations Maintain compliance with federal, state, provincial, and local regulations Support audits, reconciliations, and reporting activities Drive process improvements and system efficiencies (including Workday, if applicable) Build strong relationships with internal clients and external vendors Travel as needed within the U.S. and Canada Qualifications 5+ years of payroll experience, including hands-on processing Proven people management experience in a payroll environment Strong knowledge of U.S. and Canadian payroll tax compliance Solid understanding of payroll accounting principles Experience with Workday preferred FPC or CPP certification preferred Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities Vaco by Highspring values a diverse workplace and strongly encourages women, people of color, LGBTQ+ individuals, people with disabilities, members of ethnic minorities, foreign-born residents, and veterans to apply.
