TITLE: Program Specialist, Workforce Development & Safety

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Program Specialist, Workforce Development (WFD) & Safety is responsible for supporting the design, build, deployment, and sustainment of CPG Beyond training and workforce development programs. This role helps ensure training is effective, consistent, and aligned to operational requirements by applying adult learning principles, maintaining curriculum and learning assets, and supporting continuous improvement of training content.
The Program Specialist partners with WFD leadership, SMEs, and site leaders to translate field realities into structured learning pathways, job aids, facilitator guides, and LMSready content. This role enables the training system and instructors but does not replace instructor or facilitator operations responsibilities. The role also provides targeted administrative and documentation support to the Safety function by helping maintain accuracy of customerfacing training/safety information, supporting annual OSHA data accuracy efforts, and supporting incident documentation completeness without owning safety investigations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Content Creation & Upkeep (Core Responsibility): Create, update, and maintain training materials including job aids, facilitator guides, learner guides, checklists, and LMSready modules. Ensure content remains current as tools, standards, and operational practices change.
* Curriculum Design & Learning Experience Development: Design and maintain rolebased learning content using adult learning principles and practical, fieldaligned training approaches. Develop learning experiences that include classroom, handson, OJT support materials, and assessments where applicable.
* Instructional Design Standards & Quality Control: Establish and apply consistent standards for learning objectives, content structure, assessments, and version control. Ensure training materials are accurate, clear, and usable across sites.
*Training Operations Enablement: Support the training system by helping instructors ensure learning assets are prepared, current, and ready for delivery with a focus on enablement rather than dayof training coordination.
* Safety Support - Portal Accuracy: Assist with portal maintenance by verifying that required training, certification, and safety documentation is accurate, complete, and current. Coordinate corrections with internal owners.
* Safety Support - OSHA Data Accuracy: Support annual OSHA data preparation by validating documentation completeness and data accuracy.
* Safety Support - Incident Documentation Completeness: Support the Safety team by ensuring incident reporting documentation is complete, properly filed, and auditready. Track followups and documentation gaps without owning investigation ownership.
* Ability to travel approximately 10%
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:
* 3+ years of experience in workforce development, training coordination, instructional design, curriculum development, learning operations, or a related field.
* Demonstrated experience applying adult learning principles to build training content that supports real job performance.
* Experience in operations, construction, critical environments, safety-adjacent environments, or regulated settings is preferred.
Required Computer Skills:
* Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams)
* Experience working with documentation libraries and versioning (SharePoint or similar) preferred.
* Experience supporting training content in an LMS preferred (administration or publishing).
Skills:
* Working knowledge of adult learning principles and practical instructional design.
* Ability to translate field work into clear learning objectives, step-by-step job aids, and training assets.
* Strong writing and editing skills; produces clear, usable materials for frontline audiences.
* Strong organization and attention to detail (documentation accuracy and version control).
* Ability to manage multiple workstreams and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
* Strong collaboration skills with SMEs, Safety, and Operations stakeholders.
Certificates and Licenses (Preferred):
* Familiarity with OSHA documentation and recordkeeping concepts preferred.
* Familiarity with training evaluation methods (Kirkpatrick) preferred.
