Trusted Medical, PLLC is the clinical care delivery affiliate of Edera (www.edera.com). We specialize in helping Veterans reduce wait times for disability and separation health assessments required by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), so they can receive their benefits sooner. What you will do:

  • Perform medical eye exams to evaluate and diagnose chronic and/or disabling ocular conditions- these are medicolegal exams that are diagnostic in nature only and include no treatments, prescribing or follow-up exams
  • Document and submit all exam findings electronically on the Eye Condition Disability Benefit Questionnaire (DBQ)
  • Perform and interpret visual field testing when required
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of electronic medical and service treatment records
  • Complete thorough reviews of evidence-based medical research to provide medical opinions on ocular conditions when requested

What else you should know:

  • Salary offer begins at $88,000 annually for a 20-hour week with total compensation commensurate with experience and overall qualifications
  • This is a 1099 position
  • Relocation assistance may be available

What you will need:

  • Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree
  • Valid active state license to practice optometry in the state applied to
  • Strong medical diagnostic skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with punctuality and dependability
  • A strong sense of workplace professionalism and personal ethics
  • Positive patient relationship and management skills
  • Comfort with reviewing medical charts and interpreting credible medical research
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across teams

Additional Requirements:

  • Active BLS

Immunizations Required:

  • TB Screening (less than one year old)
  • Hep B Titers (less than 1 year old)
