Job Summary

The Human Resource Manager is responsible for executing and managing various human resource functions, including recruitment, employee relations, and performance management within the institution. This position focuses on implementing Human Resource policies and procedures, providing support to employees and managers, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 - Execute recruitment processes by sourcing, interviewing, and selecting candidates to fill open positions within the institution.

Job Duty 2 - Coordinate benefits administration by overseeing the enrollment process and responding to employee inquiries regarding benefits programs.

Job Duty 3 - Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Duty 4 - Manage employee relations issues by addressing concerns, mediating conflicts, and providing guidance to employees and managers on Human Resource policies.

Job Duty 5 - Implement performance management programs by facilitating performance evaluations and providing support to managers in setting employee goals.

Job Duty 6 - Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations by maintaining up-to-date knowledge and conducting audits of Human Resource practices.

Job Duty 7 - Administer employee training and development programs by identifying training needs and coordinating opportunities for professional growth.

Job Duty 8 - Analyze Human Resource metrics and data to report on trends, turnover rates, and employee satisfaction to inform decision-making.

Job Duty 9- Prepare reports and presentations for senior leadership to communicate Human Resource initiatives, metrics, and recommendations for improvements.

Job Duty 10 - Develop and maintain Human Resource policies and procedures by conducting research and ensuring alignment with institutional goals and compliance standards.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in related discipline or equivalent, related experience

6+ years of relevant experience

Experience with the following preferred:

  • Managing HR issues in a higher education environment
  • Hiring research faculty and processing personnel actions for research faculty

Proposed Salary

Hiring Range: $63,303-$90,165 depending on experience and qualifications

Other Information

Key duties may include:

  • Manage assigned HR processes across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and offboarding for designated units.
  • Support assigned faculty and staff searches by advising on process, documentation, and compliance requirements in coordination with Talent Acquisition and Faculty Affairs.
  • Review and approve HR requests and transactions (e.g., hiring, compensation, job changes), ensuring accuracy and alignment with College, Institute, and USG policies.
  • Provide guidance and consultation to managers and unit leadership on HR policies, procedures, and standard practices.
  • Serve as a primary HR point of contact for managers and employees, assisting with the identification and resolution of routine workplace and employeerelated issues.
  • Serve as an initial point of contact for employee relations matters, partnering with Central HR and Employee Relations to support appropriate assessment and resolution.
  • Collaborate with Central HR and related campus partners (e.g., Faculty Affairs, Compensation, Talent Acquisition, Workforce Administration) to research issues and implement approved HR actions.
  • Assist with Collegewide HR programs, projects, and initiatives, ensuring timely completion of required actions and documentation.
  • Support College initiatives and committees, including the College of Engineering Cares Committee
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of College HR operations.
