Job Description
The Marketing Communications Specialist plays a critical role in supporting integrated marketing and communications initiatives that advance business objectives and strengthen the corporate brand. This role partners closely with leadership, internal stakeholders, and the broader Marketing & Communications team to deliver clear, compelling messaging across communication channels. The Specialist will focus on internal communications, executive communications, and speechwriting, while also supporting broader marketing campaigns, content development, social media, and program measurement. Success in this role requires strong writing and editing skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to translate complex business priorities into effective communications that drive engagement and alignment. Strategic Messaging & Campaign Support
- Partner with Marketing & Communications leadership, business units, and cross-functional teams to plan, develop, and implement messaging that supportsintegrated marketing campaigns, product awareness, business priorities, andcorporate initiatives.
- Ensure messaging aligns with overall brand strategy, campaign objectives, and business goals, maintaining consistency across internal and external channels.
- Support the execution of strategic MarCom programs designed to increase brand visibility, strengthen reputation, and protect the corporate brand.
Internal & Executive Communications
- Develop and manage internal communications that inform, engage, and align employees around company strategy, initiatives, and culture.
- Support executive communications, including leadership announcements, presentations, executive emails, and talking points.
- Draft, edit, and refine speeches and remarks for internal and external audiences, ensuring clarity, authenticity, and alignment with corporate messaging.
- Serve as an editor for formal business communications, ensuring quality, consistency, and tone.
Content Development & Writing Write, review, and edit a wide range of marketing and corporate communications materials, including:
- Internal announcements and campaigns
- Executive communications and speeches
- Press releases and media materials
- Blog posts, articles, and thought leadership content
- Social media posts
- Conference, event, and special project communications
- Develop, enhance, or revise marketing collateral for web, print, presentations, and other media channels.
Project & Stakeholder Support
- Manage multiple communications projects, balancing timelines, priorities, and stakeholder needs in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborate with external agencies or vendors as needed.
- Provide general administrative and project coordination support to the Marketing & Communications team as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in marketing communications, corporate communications, or a related role.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated experience in internal communications and executive writing
- e-level writing (including executive messaging).
- High level of professionalism to frequently work with and help develop the voice of senior level executives
- Strong editing skills with attention to detail, voice, and tone.
- Experience supporting or managing social media channels, including LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business objectives into effective
- communications.
- Strong organizational and project management skills; able to deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
- Avid consumer of world news, industry trends, and emerging communications best practices.
- Strong collaboration and relationship building skills.
- Ability to multi-task is critical to success
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
- Willingness to travel domestically on a minimal basis.
- TEL operates on a hybrid work model which requires at least 3 days a week in our new downtown Austin office with a beautiful view of LadyBird Lake.
- Japanese language skills are not required but would be a significant plus.
