Position Overview

The Talent Acquisition Advisor manages full life cycle recruiting for assigned departments, partnering closely with hiring managers and HR Business Partners to understand organizational objectives and staffing needs. This role represents Parkland Health at recruitment events, networking functions, and virtual sourcing channels, building strong pipelines of qualified candidates. The Advisor guides hiring leaders through candidate evaluation, supports sound hiring decisions, and ensures compliance with all applicable employment laws. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate records in the applicant tracking system, adhering to departmental SLAs, and recommending competitive salary offers consistent with Parkland's compensation philosophy.

Minimum Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; concentration in Human Resources or Business Administration is desirable.

Experience
  • 1 year of recruitment experience required with a bachelor's degree, OR 3 years of recruitment experience without a bachelor's degree.
  • Recruitment experience is defined as: job posting, candidate sourcing, resume review, interview coordination, offer management, and onboarding support.
  • Preferred experience includes:
  • Healthcare or medical staffing environments
  • Developing and executing strategic recruitment plans and initiatives
  • Utilizing applicant tracking systems (ATS) to manage recruiting workflows
  • Consistently delivering staffing results against defined goals
  • Building effective relationships with hiring leaders and candidates

Equivalent Experience
  • 3 years of experience supporting or designing workforce development, internal career navigation, or succession planning programs may substitute for recruitment experience.

Certifications & Licensure
  • Professional in Human Resources certification preferred (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP).
  • DDI Target Selection Interviewer and Trainer certification preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Parkland policies, federal and state employment laws, and the ability to communicate relevant updates to HR staff and department leaders.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with clients, HR Business Partners, and cross-functional HR teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally across all levels of the organization - from front-line staff to executives.
  • Ability to represent Parkland positively in all interactions and settings.
  • Eagerness and capacity to learn, absorb new information, and apply it quickly in a dynamic environment.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with a demonstrated ability to manage shifting priorities and multiple concurrent projects.
  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft Talent Acquisition/Management solutions is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Sourcing
  • Conduct intake meetings with hiring managers to review position requirements, ideal candidate profiles, advertising strategies, and recruiting timelines.
  • Develop and execute targeted sourcing strategies using job boards, social media, resume databases, and search engines to identify both active and passive candidates.
  • Build and sustain a qualified candidate pipeline to support current and anticipated hiring needs.
  • Develop screening criteria to evaluate resumes and applications against role requirements.
  • Conduct phone screens to assess candidate qualifications, salary expectations, availability, and interest level.

Hiring Process Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for hiring managers and candidates throughout the full recruiting cycle.
  • Schedule interviews and facilitate post-interview calibration meetings to identify top candidates.
  • Provide clear, timely feedback on candidates to hiring managers and other stakeholders - both verbally and in writing.
  • Monitor and ensure 100% compliance with hiring process activities, resolving any discrepancies prior to offer completion.
  • Validate all online applications for accuracy and ensure candidate statuses are documented consistently throughout the hiring lifecycle.
  • Recommend salary offers in alignment with Parkland's compensation philosophy.

Strategic Partnership & Advisory
  • Leverage established relationships to advise and consult with department leaders and hiring managers on staffing strategy and process improvement.
  • Use data-driven metrics to identify trends in the talent acquisition process and present actionable recommendations to business leaders.
  • Partner with HR Business Partners and hiring managers to anticipate future staffing needs based on departmental goals.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of the professional, clinical, and/or technical competencies relevant to supported departments.

Team & Operational Support
  • Proactively support the development of new and less-experienced Talent Acquisition Partners through best practice sharing and process guidance.
  • Support the Service Now Office of Talent Management ticketing queue on a regular basis.
  • Demonstrate an active commitment to Parkland's mission and values in all aspects of work.

Core Accountabilities

  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve recruiting workflows and enhance the hiring manager and candidate experience. Recommends, implements, and monitors process changes in alignment with departmental and organizational goals.
  • Stays current on industry trends, advancements, and best practices through professional development activities such as seminars, industry publications, and active participation in professional associations. Integrates new knowledge into daily practice.
  • Maintains current awareness of applicable regulations, policies, and legal requirements governing employment practices. Develops and follows internal controls to promote compliance with accreditation standards and applicable law. Proactively seeks guidance when needed.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

Physical Activity

This role requires primarily sedentary work (approximately 6 hours/day at a desk), with regular periods of standing and walking within the office, hospital, and remote locations. Some physical activity is required at recruitment events, including occasional bending, kneeling, and reaching up to 8 feet when setting up booths. The role involves carrying, holding, and lifting of materials up to 20 lbs (e.g., binders, recruiting materials), and monthly pushing/pulling of loaded carts up to 40 lbs.

Sensory & Cognitive Requirements

Requires good vision, hearing, and speaking ability. Daily tasks involve extensive typing, writing, reading, and verbal communication (approximately 5 hours/day). Analytical thinking and report composition are regularly required, along with basic arithmetic and data interpretation.

Work Environment

Work is performed primarily indoors in a standard office environment (8 hours/day). Occasional attendance at job fairs and off-site recruiting events is required. Minimal exposure to infectious disease (approximately 0.5 hours/day) in a healthcare setting.
