Our Water/Wastewater team in Baltimore is looking for an Engineer to join their team. In this role you will perform design and project delivery for water/wastewater projects, including water distribution and sewage collection systems, water treatment facilities, and water pumping stations. This is an opportunity to work with a team of experienced project managers in a truly collaborative environment to support our municipal clients.

Essential Functions



  • Prepare design calculations, drawings, and specifications for water and wastewater pipelines, treatment facilities, and pumping stations projects
  • Conduct technical evaluations to support planning and design related to water and wastewater systems
  • Assist with the preparation and review of technical memoranda, reports, drawings, specifications, and miscellaneous contract documents
  • Support field testing and investigations when required
  • Support construction projects with engineering services (submittal review, contract document interpretation, requests for information, correspondence, change requests, and change orders) when required
  • Assist with project management activities for select tasks and develop project management skills for expanded responsibilities
  • Provide technical marketing support during the procurement of key projects as requested.
  • Communicate effectively and coordinate with project teams including other disciplines, such as cost estimators, GIS, designers, and other engineers


Required Education and Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering
  • One (1) to Five (5) years of experience in the study, design, and construction administration of water distribution systems and wastewater collection systems, facilities, and infrastructure (pipelines, force mains, and pump stations)
  • Internship(s) will be considered towards work experience
  • A self-starter, versatile and interested in working on a variety of projects supporting our Water and Wastewater Group


Preferred Skills and Certifications



  • Excellent technical writing, verbal and written communication skills required
  • Excellent organizational and presentation skills
  • AutoCAD and Civil 3D skills required; MicroStation will be a plus
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite including Word, Outlook, Project, Excel and PowerPoint
  • FE/EIT Certification or ability to obtain within a year of employment
