As a Technical Trainer, you'll own the entire training lifecycle, from start to finish, including Trainee's knowledge retention and sales performance. This means you'll assess what our teams need to learn, develop compelling training materials, coordinate logistics, deliver engaging sessions, and continuously monitor and evaluate their effectiveness. Your comprehensive programs will cover essential areas such as enterprise software systems (e.g., SAP, Salesforce, Webex, and Google), specialized welding processes, product/gas applications, advanced sales techniques, and critical safety training protocols.

A key part of your role involves working alongside upper management to analyze data and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). You'll be crucial in interpreting training effectiveness, identifying trends in learning outcomes, and pinpointing areas for improvement based on concrete data. This collaboration ensures our training directly supports broader business goals and drives measurable improvements across the organization.

This dynamic position also includes managing, coordinating, and delivering training for a diverse range of personnel, including our Customer Service, Distribution Center (DC), and Sales teams. You'll expertly juggle multiple concurrent training schedules, ensuring all teams receive timely and relevant instruction. As you grow in this role, you'll continuously develop your expertise to facilitate training for intermediate and advanced users, becoming a true subject matter expert.

  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:

    • Assist in building annual training plan, classroom handouts, instructional materials, aids and manuals

    • Responsible for managing and maintaining the training schedule for the home Airgas location

    • Acclimate new hires to the business by coordinating and delivering onboarding and on the job training

    • Develop and produce training assets: Create videos, updates, and other training materials to support various teams.

    • Develop and deliver engaging virtual training sessions using various platforms and tools. Continuously enhance virtual training programs by incorporating new technologies, interactive elements, and feedback to improve participant engagement and learning outcomes.

    • Work with local vendor representation to schedule and coordinate vendor training, which can include reviewing/evaluating content and products and providing same day support

    • Collaborate and conduct meetings with management and leadership to proactively identify topics to be addressed or areas in need of additional instruction, evaluate effectiveness of training, and provide continued support

    • Assist with amending and revising training programs as necessary in a constantly changing working environment

    • Maintain training records, attendance forms, google sites, surveys and provide reports and updates as required by the Training Manager or Leadership

    • Manage and maintain in house training facilities and equipment, including welding lab requirements

    • Provide hands on process and equipment demonstrations, vendor demonstrations, and continuous education

    • As needed, participate in "Train the Trainer" education to achieve a level of competence to utilize training material designed and developed by others to effectively train

    • Exercise classroom management including learning performance and escalate issues to Management when necessary

    • Actively seek current training methods and best practices to facilitate training employees

    • Provide regular KPI summaries and analysis: Generate weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for various leadership levels, including trend analysis and comparative data.

    • Constantly look for areas of improvement to streamline or simplify processes and training delivery

    • Is an organized self-starter with the initiative to carry out duties independently

    • Leadership Development facilitation along with soft skills coaching

    • Leveraging AI tools to streamline content creation

  • Preferred Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience relating to training and development
  • 3+ years of experience preferred with SAP, Salesforce, Webex, Google products, Power BI, and Reporting
  • Basic knowledge of welding, hardgoods and gases, with hands on experience or background in welding, preferred
  • Experience in various training methods including, but not limited to, on the job coaching, virtual, and classroom
Preferred:
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret KPI data and identify trends.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Sites) for creating and managing training materials and records.
  • Adept at learning new computer software/applications
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Advanced organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and manage a highly active pre-planned schedule
  • Ability to foster collaborative partnerships and define joint key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and ability to manage multiple project phases.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to multitask, work independently with minimal supervision and manage workload effectively with competitive demands for resources and time
  • Be able to prepare and present complex material in an organized and motivational manner, exercising patience and creativity
  • Strong understanding of content creation and knowledge management.
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM systems for documentation and reporting
