The Role:

• Oversees the racing operations office and acts as liaison between on all horseman issues

Responsibilities:

• Writes races and oversees entries and programs
• Determine acceptability and eligibility of horses and provide proper classification to obtain a high level of competitiveness
• Approves the all the trainers and horses which participate in the live meet.
• Publish the conditions sheets in accordance with the USTA and Colorado Gaming/Racing Division rules once or twice each week of racing
• Oversee the managerial operations of the racing office, to include hiring, training, coaching, counseling, and separations
• Works closely with Colorado Racing Commission to ensure racing rules and regulations are followed.
• Recruits horses for live meet.
• Act as a liaison on behalf of Arapahoe Park management with the horsemen relating to horsemen's issues
• Oversees and ensures that employees work safely and follow all safety rules
• Manages payroll and labor costs
• Ensures compliance with relevant laws and regulations as well as company policies and procedures
