Sr. Consultant - Aviation Planning

Mead & Hunt is looking for a talented, collaborative, and innovative problem-solver who wants to build a dynamic career in aviation planning with a nationally recognized company. This position plans and directs a variety of planning projects and mentors others in their field of expertise. The person in this role promotes the reputation of the company and increases business by becoming widely recognized outside the company as a technical expert.

Responsibilities include:

  • Resolve complex technical and regulatory issues with organization-wide impact
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and quality across all planning projects
  • Build and maintain client relationships and support long-term business development
  • Oversee advanced QAQC processes for technical reports, plans, and exhibits
  • Set and oversee technical standards and strategic direction; mentors others on technical development
  • Oversee risk management and resource planning for the discipline
  • Guide alignment of planning work with organizational and financial goals
  • Champion innovation and continuous improvement within the discipline
  • Publish, present, and contribute to industry discussions to position the firm as an innovator in planning
  • Other duties as assigned

The successful candidate will have all of the following:

  • A bachelor's degree (or higher) in planning or a related field from an accredited college or university --AND-- a minimum of twenty (20) years of experience; AICP certification preferred

--OR--

  • 24 years of relevant experience; AICP certification preferred

The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following:

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to identify sources and research public policies, regulations, laws, standards, permits, and best practices
  • Ability to read and interpret business, technical, and regulatory materials, including instructions and diagrams
  • Ability to prepare and edit reports, correspondence, and other materials
  • Ability to present information clearly and respond to questions from team members and stakeholders
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to use planning processes to assist in problem-solving and project development
  • Ability to interpret and apply spatial data and use software such as MS Office and basic GIS tools
  • Being a mentor
  • Maintaining and staying current on industry knowledge
  • Holding a leadership role in professional society or association
  • Conducting internal technical training
  • Participation in conferences and industry events by preparing and delivering technical presentations

Salary Range: $67.31 - $84.62 hourly; actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set, or location
