Telecommunications Technician Company: TEKsystems Inc. Location: Gallatin, TN Employment Type: 6Month Contract with Possible Extension Mandatory 56Hour Work Week Compensation: Competitive Pay + Full Benefits Package TEKsystems Description TEKsystems Inc. is actively seeking a motivated and detailoriented Telecommunications Technician to support projects across the Greater Nashville area. This is an excellent entrylevel opportunity to gain handson experience in lowvoltage and structured cabling environments while working with an industryleading organization. The role offers strong potential for extension or longterm placement. What You'll Be Doing As a Telecommunications Technician, you will be responsible for installing and supporting telecommunications infrastructure while ensuring quality, safety, and performance standards are met. Key Responsibilities Include: * Install, maintain, and repair telecommunications and lowvoltage systems * Pull, terminate, and test Cat5 and Cat6 cabling * Perform routine inspections and troubleshoot connectivity issues * Assist with installation of CCTV, access control, and security systems * Configure and support basic telecom/network devices * Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and materials used * Follow all safety guidelines and industry best practices * Collaborate with team members to meet project timelines What We're Looking For Required Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent * Basic knowledge or handson experience with cabling or lowvoltage systems * Familiarity with routers, switches, and structured cabling environments * Ability to work independently and in a team setting * Strong problemsolving and troubleshooting skills Preferred (Not Required): * Experience with VoIP or PBX systems * Technical certifications Top Skills * Cat6 * Cat5 * Cabling & Installation * LowVoltage Systems Additional Skills & Traits * Strong work ethic * Punctual and reliable * High attention to detail * Willingness to learn and grow in the telecom field Benefits * Competitive hourly compensation * Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance * 401(k) retirement plan * Opportunity for contract extension or longterm placement * Professional growth within a supportive team environment Experience Level Entry Level Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Gallatin, TN.
