We are seeking a highly motivated individual with experience in NASA Manned Space Flight Operations environment with a technical background who is ready to make a difference on the NASA AEGIS Program.This program supports NASA's network services with the OCIO as primary customer; however, we work with NASA mission customers as well. The opening is for a position located at the Huntsville Operations Support Center (HOSC) which supports NASA specialized mission critical communications services, such as the HOSC Mission LANs, the Human Space Flight WAN and the Mission Voice Conferencing Systems. As a AEGIS HOSC Team member, you will implement, support design, maintain and operate the systems in the Huntsville Operations Support Center delivering Mission Voice and Networks systems and services. You will have an opportunity to collaborate closely with all groups and contractors providing services for the ISS, SLS, and Lunar Programs requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with program stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications and support customer boards and Operational briefings set by the PMOD Management Plan.
  • Design, develop, configure and deploy systems supporting NASA MSF Programs.
  • Create and maintain Configuration Management with detailed system specifications, drawings and documentation.
  • Perform and maintain IT Security compliancy on all Networking and Voice systems.
  • Recommend and perform configuration, preventative maintenance, fault isolation of local/remote equipment and the interfacing Mission and Non-Mission WAN circuitry.
  • Develop, maintain and validate current systems tools such as scripts and third party applications to deliver system performance and compliancy metrics.
  • Develop and release detailed instructions to implement any change supporting an enhancement or upgrade. Review and Modify existing procedures as deemed necessary.
  • Implement approved changes (OS software upgrades, Application configurations and upgrades, Hardware configuration upgrades and interfacing circuits).
  • Support HOSC Operations during high visibility or critical activities.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to end-users, co-workers and Operations personnel.
  • Attend and participate in customer required meetings and briefings.
  • Support preparation of presentation materials when requested to brief the customer and end users, such as the HOSC Operations or Architecture Panels, or PMOD chaired Meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance / LOC 40
  • Associates degree and 4 years or bachelors degree and 2 years of experience in Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • 1-5 years experience with networking principals and protocols such as LANs and subnetting, UDP, TCP/IP, Multicast, DHCP, DNS SSH and VPN's.
  • 1-5 years of experience working with Mission Conferencing and distribution systems, VOIP, and services delivery over IP.
  • Knowledge with databases such as maintaining backups and restoral of MySQL or Maria.
  • Experience with Operating Systems such as RHEL, Ubuntu, Windows, MAC and Cisco IOS
  • Experience supporting data analytics/data modeling and requirements testing.
  • Knowledge with monitoring tools such as Spectrum , BigFix and Cisco Works
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.
