Position Summary:
Under the leadership of the NJGU/CB Director, the Program Service Coordinator is responsible for the effective implementation of the service components as required by the goals, objectives, and standards associated with the NJ GEAR UP/College Bound grant program at targeted school sites, campus-based and other approved program locations.
Essential Functions:
-Coordinating with the program Site Directors by identifying, recruiting, training, assigning and supervising mentors, tutors, and teacher assistants as needed for program operations in accordance with all policies, regulations, procedures and expectations associated with the grant, NJIT and CPCP.
-Assisting in increasing program participation by addressing academic and personal needs of students through service component strategies.
-Supervising the reporting of student services provided by mentors, tutors, and teacher assistants as required by grant, NJIT, and CPCP. This includes the collecting and analyzing of student data from report cards, test scores, Personal Educational Plans (PEPs) completion, etc. to improve service delivery to students and increase student outcomes.
-Complying with all New Jersey Office of the Secretary of Higher Education (NJOSHE) requirements for Training and Curriculum Development for Mentors.
Additional Functions:
-Perform other duties as assigned.
Prerequisite Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in education, counseling or a related field with three to five years of experience.
-Experience with precollege programs and the application of best practices in the delivery of service components strategies and services to increase student interest and success, as well as enrollment in, post-secondary education;
-Strong management, development, planning, and Organizational skills; and Effective verbal and written communications, computer technology and stakeholder relations skills.
-At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be accepted where the candidate can demonstrate, to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Master's degree preferred in STEM and/or K-20 education.
-Bilingual (written and verbal) in Spanish and English.

Salary Information:
In compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the negotiated annual salary range for this position is $63,129.05- $83,738.94 (USD). NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses or other items.
