Healthier Communities. Healthiest Lives. Together JOB DESCRIPTION: This position supports the daily operation of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine divisions. The Laboratory Assistant performs clerical, technical, or both duties as they pertain to the specific Laboratory division. This role is responsible for sending out blocks and slides (asset management) for reference lab testing, accessioning internal and external surgical pathology cases, coordinating patient assets for review, filing patient slides and blocks, acts as a point person for the AP Pathologists, prepares reports and letters for the Pathologists, transcription, and collecting slides and reports for Pathologists presenting at multi-disciplinary conferences. EDUCATION: High school graduate or equivalent. EXPERIENCE: Lab experience preferred. WHY UVM MEDICAL CENTER (UVMMC)?
