Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Maintenance Oil Technician is responsible for supplying, sampling, testing and mixing of fluids, coolants and chemicals. Responsibilities also include troubleshooting and machine repair, cleaning and Preventive Maintenance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for supplying, sampling, testing and mixing of fluids, coolants and chemicals used in Forge Plant
- Responsible for storage and organization of fluids used in Forge Plant
- Knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations related to fluids used in Plant
- Be able to drag, lift and operate oil fill hoses.
- Assembling, installing, and maintaining mechanical systems, and equipment.
- Troubleshooting Machines, performing routine preventive Maintenance, hydraulic, pneumatic and some electrical issues.
- Reading interpreting and following instructions and operation manuals.
- Maintaining a schedule for inspecting, servicing, and testing machines.
- Cleaning, repairing and installing equipment and parts as needed.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Comply with all Health and Safety regulations.
- Computer skills including Excel, Word and MP2 ((CMMS)Computerized Maintenance Management System)
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Must be trainable in the ability to drive and operate a Fork Truck
- Must be trainable in the ability to drive and operate a Jib Lift
- Must be trainable in the ability to drive and operate a Scissor Lift
- Must be trainable in the ability to operate and use our Vacuum Trailer
- Able to manage their time well
Requirements
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND ABILITIES:
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Trade School or Vocational classes Preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings (Some light Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic)
- Knowledge of hand tools, drill press, lathe and mill, electric drills, Welding (Mig required, Tig and Stick also preferred), pipe threading machine, acetylene torch, soldering iron, etc
- Knowledge of machine parts, terminology, and general manufacturing processes.
- General manufacturing experience.
- Ability to work closely with supervision and fellow employees
- Must be able to work overtime as needed, must also be able to work weekends and holidays if required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to sit, kneel, squat or bend, for long lengths of time.
- Able to walk and/or stand for extended periods of time.
- Lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly if necessary.
- Able to use common hand tools, and/or power tools.
- Able to grasp and manipulate small objects such as screws, rivets, wire terminals, etc.
- Must be flexible to adapt to ever-changing job requirements.
