As a Material Handler, you'll be part of the team that safely receives, processes, moves, and prepares hazardous and non-hazardous materials at our waste treatment facility.

This is an active, hands-on industrial role where safety comes first. You'll work with experienced team members, learn how different materials are safely handled and processed, operate equipment, and develop skills specific to the environmental services industry.

If you're dependable, comfortable working in an industrial environment, and willing to learn, we'll teach you the processes and procedures you need to be successful.

What Your Day Could Look Like

Every day starts with one priority: doing the job safely. Working alongside your team, you may:

Load, unload, move, and process containers of solid and liquid waste.
• Operate equipment such as forklifts, Bobcats, pumps, and hydraulic balers.
• Move liquid materials through pump systems into designated storage tanks.
• Collect material samples for testing and assist with chemical compatibility checks.
• Review basic laboratory information to help determine how materials should be safely handled and processed.
• Use barcode scanners and Arcwood's labeling systems to track and manage materials throughout the facility.
• Properly label and prepare containers for storage or shipment.
• Perform basic spill cleanup and help keep work areas, equipment, floors, and processing areas clean and safe.
• Follow established EPA, DOT, OSHA, facility permit, and company safety requirements.
• Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), which may include boots, gloves, protective suits, eye and hearing protection, and a respirator.
• Pitch in where needed to help the team safely and efficiently complete the day's work.

- High-school diploma or equivalent (required)

You don't need to come in knowing everything about environmental services. We're looking for someone who is dependable, safety-minded, comfortable with hands-on work, and willing to learn.

• 1+ years of related experience (preferred)
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certificate (preferred)
