Strategic Finance and Business Insight Lead BH Job ID: 3952 SF Job Req ID:
Strategic Finance & Business Insights Lead
Reporting Structure & Overview This role reports directly to the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis for CSS NA. This role plays a critical role in how the SBU understands its performance, risks, and opportunities. By combining traditional FP&A and data analysis with the adoption of AI tools, this hire will directly influence strategic direction, resource allocation, and leadership decisions across CSS NA. This is a hands-on individual contributor role with no direct reports and no predefined playbook. Key Responsibilities
- Own ad hoc, ambiguous analytical questions coming from SBU leadership, often with incomplete data and unclear starting points.
- Independently identify, frame, and prioritize business problems before solving them.
- Design and build custom financial and operational models from scratch to support strategic, commercial, and operational decisions.
- Continuously mine disparate data sources to uncover non-obvious insights, anomalies, and drivers impacting SBU performance.
- Act as a thought partner to SBU leadership, challenging assumptions with data and logic.
- Participate in cross-functional problem solving to address the business unit's most pressing challenges and priorities.
- Leverage artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced analytics tools to enhance efficiency, uncover insights and improve forecasting accuracy.
- Translate complex findings into clear concise recommendations for leadership.
- Partner with finance, operations, and commercial teams to evaluate new business opportunities, investments, and performance improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to work through ambiguity and define structure where none exists.
- Strong intellectual curiosity, naturally asking "why," "what's driving this," and "what are we missing?"
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, Tableau, QlikSense, Knime, etc.)
- Curiosity and aptitude for learning and applying new technologies, including AI/ML platforms.
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Bias toward action: able to move forward with imperfect information.
- Enjoys being "in the weeds" while still connecting analysis to the bigger picture.
