Job Description

KOMU 8 is looking for a TV Show Director to join our dedicated production team. This position is responsible for the production of our locally produced content using Ross Overdrive. The ideal candidate for this position is a troubleshooter and quick thinker who can diagnose and resolve broadcast technical issues and find work arounds to ensure broadcast quality standards are met. The ability to communicate these fixes clearly and succinctly to others is important. Must work well in a collaborative team environment and be able to multitask and demonstrate the tact, diplomacy, decisiveness, and people skills required in a live television, high pressure environment. This position requires a highly organized, self-motivated individual who can interface with a diverse group of people and situations, while maintaining a steady and calm demeanor.

KOMU 8 is a full-powered NBC and CW affiliate proudly owned by the University of Missouri serving the Columbia-Jefferson City, MO market. It is the only network affiliated television station with a dual mission of informing the public and serving as the premier training ground for television journalists with the prestigious Missouri School of Journalism.

Responsibilities Include:

* Operation of studio cameras, production switchers, production automation, graphic systems, video routers, studio lighting, audio and communication systems.
* Proficiency with Ross Overdrive, Ross Inception, Robotic Cameras, Bitcentral, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Photoshop, VizRT Graphics.
* Executing live and recorded productions across multiple platforms.
* Situational live remote support.
* Video editing with Adobe Premiere.
* Graphic creation with Adobe Photoshop and Vizrt.
* Ability to work with a flexible schedule is a must. May require mornings, nights, weekends, holidays and overtime during breaking news/weather events.
* Responsible for studio maintenance, set up and tear down.
* Other duties as assigned.

Shift

Wednesday - Sunday, 3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in TV production, Sports production, or Film.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary: $16.00 - $20.00 hourly

Grade: GGS 006
