As the Director for Gender Violence Education and Outreach (Prevention), you'll be a vital part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team that supports students across the university through prevention, education, engagement, and community partnerships.

What You'llDo:

Prevention, Education, Training, and Assessment (40%)



  • Lead the strategic development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive prevention and education framework addressing gender-based violence, consent, healthy relationships, and bystander intervention.





  • Providesubject-matter expertiseon trauma-informed, equity-centered prevention practices.





  • Develop and manage a tiered prevention model with universal, targeted, and high-impact initiatives.





  • Assess and refine programs using de-identified data collection, analysis, and reporting.





  • Ensureaccuratedocumentation and compliance with relevant laws and policies (Title IX, Clery Act, VAWA).



Staff Supervision and Development (35%)



  • Support recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and training of staff within the prevention and education portfolio.





  • Supervise professional staff, graduate assistants, interns, and/or student employees.





  • Conduct performance evaluations and support staff development through regular feedback.





  • Oversee and manage programmatic budgets ensuring stewarded resource allocation.





  • Represent the program on committees, working groups, and task forces related to wellbeing and violence prevention.



Survivor-Centered Support (10%)



  • Serve as a point of contact for survivors navigating campus and community resources.





  • Ensure survivors are informed of their rights, options, and available services.






  • Advocate for survivor needs across campus departments and external organizations.



Community Partnerships and Outreach (10%)



  • Collaborate with GVPI and campus partners to align prevention efforts with institutional goals.





  • Lead outreach and engagement with student organizations and advocacy groups.





  • Build and sustain partnerships with community organizations to enhancepreventionresources.



Other Duties (5%)



  • Perform related duties as needed to support departmental and institutional priorities.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and six years of relevant experience, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Strongly Preferred Education and Experience



  • Master's degree in Public Health, Counseling, Social Work, Education, ora relatedfield.





  • One year full-time, post-Master's experience.





  • 2-3 years of experienceeducating ongender violence in a higher education setting.



Preferred Skills and Competencies



  • Understanding ofgender violence in higher education contexts.





  • Knowledge of federal regulations including Title IX and the CampusSaVEAct.





  • Ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, and students at multiple levels.






  • Supervisory experience with staff, graduate students, and interns.





  • Strong communication, writing, and organizational skills.





  • Ability to build welcoming, equity-centered environments.





  • Experience planning and implementing inclusive programs for diverse populations.





  • Ability to provide short-term crisis support as needed.

Anticipated Pay Range: Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $66,842.00 to USD $122,978.00. Duke University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position; candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills; internal peer equity; as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
