Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary on-site event administrator for all home athletic events.
  • Oversee all athletic event scheduling, including communication with opponents, officials, transportation and event staff.
  • Ensure that all home contests follow NJCAA, Region 19 and Northampton standards.
  • Ability to prepare facilities for events when needed.
  • Post event updates to social media (pregame, in-game, postgame).
  • Update master event schedule and athletic website
  • Coordinate travel books, event contracts and weekly schedule board
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Description:

The Northampton Community College Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has an immediate full-time opening for an Assistant Athletic Director - Event Operations. This position will serve as the primary event administrator at all home athletic events and will be responsible for scheduling all athletic events, including securing officials, transportation and event staff. The candidate may need to assist with facility set-up/tear-down or normal maintenance, and will be responsible for posting event updates to social media. Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends, with possible travel to regional and national championships. Other duties include scheduling part-time staff, work-study and making updates to the athletic website.

Organizational Relationships: (1) Responsible to the Executive Director, Athletics for assigned responsibilities. (2) Works cooperatively with members of other departments and the College community at large. (3) Relates individual and organization's role to College mission and goals.

Performance Standards: Performance in this position is considered satisfactory when: (1) Mutually agreed upon objectives have been attained within specified time frame. (2) Responsibilities of the position have been carried out at a level consistent with performance objectives. (3) Effective cooperation exists with other members of the administrative team.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree from a Councilfor HigherEducation Accreditation (CHEA) approved Institutional Accreditor institution required.
  • Experience overseeing athletic events, communicating with opponents and officials, scheduling contests, and preparing athletic fields and facilities. Candidate must have an understanding of NCAA rules and regulations related to event management, field and facility set-up to ensure compliance. Computer skills (Word, Excel) and ability to work nights and weekends.
