Responsibilities
- Pull, route, terminate, and label CAT6 and fiber optic cabling
- Terminate CAT6 cabling in the field and at patch panels
- Dress and organize cabling in communication rooms, MDFs, and IDFs
- Test installed cabling using Fluke or similar testers
- Install racks, cabinets, ladder rack, cable tray, and pathway systems
- Install and connect devices back to control panels
- Perform panel wiring for security systems including Matrix and Frontier panels
- Install access control hardware including door locks and card readers
- Install and troubleshoot CCTV camera systems
- Install wireless access points and network devices
- Read and interpret blueprints, system layouts, and cable schedules
- Maintain safe and organized job sites
Requirements
- 2+ years of commercial low voltage or structured cabling experience
- Experience installing and terminating CAT6 cabling
- Experience with access control, cameras, or security systems preferred
- Ability to read blueprints and installation drawings
- Basic understanding of cable testing and troubleshooting
- Reliable transportation and strong work ethic
- Basic hand tools and PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hi-vis vest, steel-toe boots)
Preferred Qualifications
- Fiber optic installation or termination experience
- Experience working in hospitals, data centers, or commercial construction environments
- BICSI certification a plus
- OSHA or lift certifications
- Experience installing conduit or cable tray systems
