Description

The Process Engineer supports the Continuous Improvement team by analyzing, mapping, and optimizing operational workflows across the enterprise. This role is grounded in understanding how work actually happens-identifying root causes, eliminating inefficiencies, and designing future-state processes that enhance operational performance and elevate the customer experience.

Through strong partnership and collaboration, the Process Engineer translates complex operational challenges into practical, execution-ready process solutions.

Position Accountabilities



  • Map currentstate processes across business units and functions to understand how work is performed today.
  • Identify breakdowns, handoffs, inefficiencies, and root causes that hinder operational performance or customer experience.
  • Analyze operational and customer impacts to inform improvement priorities.
  • Design practical, scalable futurestate workflows aligned to business goals.
  • Eliminate process gaps, redundancies, and friction points to improve performance and consistency.
  • Ensure proposed process designs are feasible, scalable, compliant, and ready for implementation.
  • Partner with the Senior Business Analyst to support discovery and solution definition efforts.
  • Validate process implications of proposed solutions and ensure alignment with operational needs.
  • Provide operational context to requirements, design, and delivery teams to support accurate solution design.
  • Ensure all processes align with required operational controls, governance standards, and regulatory expectations.
  • Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, and Legal stakeholders to confirm required oversight.
  • Develop clear, highquality process artifacts for handoff to PMO and delivery teams.
  • Support implementation planning through process clarity, readiness activities, and alignment across execution partners.
  • Enable clean, effective handoffs that minimize rework and accelerate delivery.
  • Works closely with business leaders to understand business strategies and help translate action.



Organizational Relationship

This position reports to the Director of Continuous Improvement, within the Business Transformation Office within Enterprise Operations.

Position Qualifications

Education Requirements



  • At least 8 years in process improvement, operations, transformation, or continuous improvement roles
  • Experience mapping and optimizing complex cross-functional workflows
  • Lean Six Sigma certification preferred
  • Experience working with business and tech partners
  • Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills



Knowledge & Skills



  • Banking Subject Matter Expertise (Consumer, Wholesale, Wealth, etc.) and knowledgeable of Banking Regulations
  • Stays abreast of current industry trends and new technology through professional associations, trade journals, networking, and associated training and seminars
  • Experience with strategy development and implementation, including compliance with key bank policies.
  • Experience with Root Cause identification, gap analysis, SWOT Analysis practices, Workflow standards (BPMN or SIPOC)
  • Excellent written communication and verbal presentation skills
  • Self-motivated, quick and assertive
  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Extremely detailed oriented and organized
  • Exceptional time management skills
  • Cool, calm, collected and collaborative, working well under pressure and comfortable with change and complexity in dynamic environments
  • Can shift between the "big picture" and the small-but-crucial details, knowing when to concentrate on each
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and process mapping tools Visio and Miro


Salary offered will be based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. This position is also eligible to participate in either an applicable incentive compensation plan for the position or a discretionary profit sharing bonus program.
