In this fulltime, on-site role, you will support Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Control (QC), and Production teams to ensure products meet regulatory, foodsafety, and customer requirements. As a Safety Coordinator, you will:

Quality Assurance and Inspection

  • Perform part inspections using appropriate metrology tools and equipment; develop clear, detailed inspection reports
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly GMP and food safety inspections; take corrective action in accordance with SQF standards
  • Guide QC Inspectors on testing, inspection methods, documentation, and problem resolution
  • Investigate manufacturing and production issues using root-cause analysis tools

Quality Systems and Compliance

  • Execute testing protocols based on Quality Systems Documentation
  • Maintain compliance with, SQF, and internal quality standards
  • Act as point of contact for product non-conformances and customer quality concerns
  • Lead the plant's traceability and Mock Recall program to ensure system accuracy and readiness

Metrology and Process Improvement

  • Automate measurement processes for plastic components
  • Support specialized testing, including vision inspection systems; serve as liaison for automated inspection technologies
  • Monitor mold qualifications and corporate retain inventory
  • Compile and distribute monthly reports on key quality metrics, audit results, and departmental performance

Training and Team Support

  • Develop standardized training criteria for QC Inspectors
  • Conduct quality and GMP training for production personnel
  • Work cross-functionally with Maintenance, Production, Technical Service, and R&D teams

You'll need to have:

  • Associates degree or 3 years of experience in metrology or inspection or QA/QC laboratory
  • Strong understanding of root-cause analysis tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read, write, and execute test specifications and procedures
  • Basic knowledge of plastic materials (resins, colors, additives); plastics closure experience is a plus
  • Computer literacy for data entry, measurement systems, and reporting
  • Experience in an, SQF, or continuous improvement environment preferred
