Your Role:

Director, Integrated Residential Services

Heritage Behavioral Health Center is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven Director of Integrated Residential Services to provide strategic leadership and managerial oversight for three supervised residential programs, one supportive housing program, and a community support team serving these locations.

This leadership role is responsible for overseeing supervisors and multidisciplinary teams that provide comprehensive, person-centered services to individuals living with severe and persistent mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders. Services are tailored to meet each person's unique needs and include mental health counseling, skill building, medication management, budgeting support, healthcare coordination, and linkage to community resources.

The Director of Integrated Residential Services will play a critical role in shaping program excellence, strengthening community partnerships, supporting staff development, and ensuring high-quality, compliant, and recovery-oriented services.

Leadership & Supervision

  • Provide direct supervision to program supervisors, including weekly and field supervision, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management.
  • Lead hiring processes and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Support the use of data in clinical supervision to inform decision-making and improve outcomes.
  • Identify and implement quality improvement initiatives and professional development opportunities.
  • Provide crisis consultation and participate in on-call coverage as needed.

Program Oversight & Compliance

  • Ensure all clinical activities comply with agency standards, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor service delivery to ensure timely, person-centered, and goal-driven care.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of documentation and tracking in the electronic health record.
  • Participate in agency and interagency meetings and initiatives.

Clinical & Service Delivery

  • Provide and oversee comprehensive psychosocial services including:
    • Evaluation of strengths, symptoms, and service needs.
    • Development of individualized service plans.
    • Instruction in daily living skills (medication management, hygiene, budgeting, cooking, transportation, etc.).
    • Social skill development and culturally appropriate leisure activities.
    • Family and community education and consultation.
  • Provide specialized services and oversight for individuals with co-occurring psychiatric and substance use disorders (COPSD).
  • Coordinate communication and service linkage with community providers outside the agency's service area.

Collaboration & Community Engagement

  • Work collaboratively with direct leaders, supervisees, and interdisciplinary clinical staff.
  • Strengthen relationships with area healthcare, housing, and community resource providers.
  • Promote recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and person-centered practices across programs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals with mental health and/or substance use diagnoses, including co-occurring disorders.
  • Strong knowledge of community resources and social service systems, with the ability to research and connect clients to appropriate services.
  • Knowledge of case management techniques and healthcare systems (psychiatric, substance use, medical, and related services).
  • Ability to meet individuals where they are in their recovery in a non-judgmental and compassionate manner.
  • Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, uncertainty, and organizational change.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records and documentation systems.
  • Ability to think clearly and logically in high-risk, emotional, or potentially dangerous situations.
  • Ability to provide timely and responsive communication to supervisors, staff, clients, and partners.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field required.
  • Must be eligible for licensure as an LCPC or LCSW in Illinois.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of automobile insurance required.
  • Experience supervising residential or community-based behavioral health programs preferred.
