Job Description




As a Security Officer - 21+ Patrol Rounds in Lorton, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will complete routine patrols of stations, platforms, and surrounding areas, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to reports with calm, professional communication. You will assist visitors and staff, document activity, and coordinate with site personnel while supporting a caring, people-first culture built on integrity, teamwork, and innovation.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to all persons on site by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or requests for assistance in a calm, problem-solving manner; contact site leadership and/or public emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of assigned areas, including interior spaces, entrances, and the perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Control access by monitoring entry points, verifying authorized entry, directing visitors, and maintaining orderly lines and/or queues when applicable.
  • Document patrol activities, incidents, and observations in written and/or electronic reports; communicate relevant information to supervisors and/or site personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
