Your Job

Georgia Pacific in Rincon, GA is seeking their next Technician II for the Pulp team. In this position you'll play a key role in working with, monitoring, and inspecting our systems in the Pulp department.

The schedule is a 12 hour rotating shift schedule (6:50am to 7:10pm/6:50pm to 7:10am) that will include weekends, holidays and overtime. The compensation in the role will be commensurate with experience with competitive benefits and consistent performance-based pay increases.

Our Team

Our Savannah River Mill in Rincon, GA began operations in October 1986 and is considered a world-class operation in the industry. Five of the world's 12 largest tissue paper machines reside at the facility. Our operation is designed to produce products primarily from recycled fiber. We have over 50 converting lines that make the tissue, towel, and napkin products in our retail and away from home markets. What You Will Do

  • Operate equipment to defined standards and product specification targets
  • Monitor centerlines and entry into computer control systems
  • Daily inspections and sampling from fiber systems checking for brightness, quality, and dirt count
  • Troubleshoot and perform maintenance on equipment to optimize production
  • Perform basic asset care duties to include routine preventative maintenance and cleaning of the work area
  • Work as a team to help meet or exceed production, waste, quality, and safety goals
  • Operate and/or work around mobile equipment
  • Maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, which includes wearing required safety PPE
  • Perform tasks such as lifting, climbing, standing, pushing, and/or pulling for up to twelve (12) hours a day, in a loud/noisy, industrial, high-volume environment

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience operating manufacturing equipment including operator basic care responsibilities
  • Experience working in a safety driven environment where all team members are held accountable to high standard of safety
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing manufacturing equipment
  • Experience using a variety of hand tools such as adjustable wrench, sockets, and impact drivers.
  • Experience using a computer, tablet, or smart device

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience working in a paper/pulp manufacturing environment
  • Experience managing pumps and motors.
  • Experience working a rotating shift
  • Forklift experience including loading and unloading trailers
