Direct Buyer Specialist Location:Rockford, IL - Hybrid possibe Job ID: #72235 Duration: 24 months contract Pay Range: Depends on experience Job Description: This HYBRID position is for an experienced procurement professional within a Supply Chain function. Executes new program sourcing strategies while ensuring alignment withcommodity strategies and best cost sourcing plans for sustainable supply chain development. Responsible for implementing plans to ensure the new product sourcingstrategy is in alignment with desired program outcomes. Opportunities to develop skills in cross-functional leadership, solution-based negotiating, cost managementactivities, strategic commodity coordination, and execution of key customer critical program development activities. The New Product Introduction role will read across all aspects of supply chain competencies, providing an excellent proving ground for motivated individuals with interest in building a strong base within supply chain organizations. This individual will be expected to communicate to all levels of the organization, manage procurement activities through initial phases of product development (proposal & preliminary design) and validate new program business case proposals. Take new programs through the development life cycle while working in an Integrated Product Team structure. Integrate with Supply Management and leverage the Commodity Strategies to maximize the impact of new programs for cost reduction without compromise to quality. Directly interface with Senior Management within the business unit customers (Value Stream Leads, etc.) and serve as the link between the program and the supply chain organization. Drive compliance to procurement procedures within the working team in order to develop and execute standard work within the Procurement for development program. Demonstrate understanding of Global logistics including import/export requirements. Execution duties consist of large quote packages and bid analysis, PO placement and delivery assurance. SAP experience is essential and strong Excel skills are very beneficial in this role. Both will be used on a daily basis.
