Job Description




As a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Driver in New Hyde Park, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed, driving post in a government school setting, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will control access, support badge procedures, and provide clear, professional communication and customer service to staff, students, and visitors. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to staff, students, and visitors by carrying out Allied Universal and site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and protocols, including when appropriate emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout school buildings, parking areas, athletic areas, and the perimeter, observing and reporting unusual conditions and/or hazards.
  • Monitor access points and manage visitor check-in and entry procedures per site policy, including verifying identification when required and directing visitors to appropriate locations.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and requests for assistance in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site administrators and/or local public resources as needed.
  • Document patrol activities, incidents, and observations in written reports and logs, and communicate key information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A minimum of 6 months of security experience is required.
  • Access Control/Badge Experience is preferred.
  • Customer Service Experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
