The Division of Research and Sponsored Programs ( DRSP) at North Carolina Central University ( NCCU) oversees research activities, focusing on acquiring external funding, managing grants, fostering scholarly work, regulatory research compliance, and acceleration and commercialization of research-derived innovation. The Division is comprised of research institutes - JLC- BBRI and BRITE as well as the Office of Sponsored Research and Programs and Office of Research Compliance & Technology Transfer.

The Research Scientist - Data Analytics, Evaluation & Mixed-Methods Population Health will support the programmatic objectives of the Duke- CTSA award.

Doctorate (PhD, DrPH, ScD, or equivalent) in Public Health, Epidemiology, Behavioral/Social Sciences, Community Psychology, Sociology, or related field.

Lead the design, analysis, and reporting of mixed-methods and quantitative studies.
Participate in Duke CTSI translational research and analytics projects.
Develop an independent, extramurally funded research agenda aligned with community-engaged translational population health.

Conduct community health assessments, needs assessments, and evaluation studies.
Use analytic tools (R, SAS, SPSS, NVivo, REDCap, Tableau, GIS) to extract insights from population health and community datasets.
Support implementation and continuous improvement of community-based programs.

Develop dashboards, data briefs, reports, and visualization products for community partners and internal stakeholders.
Translate analytic findings into actionable recommendations for community and clinical partners.
Publish peer-reviewed manuscripts and present findings at national forums.
Mentor students, trainees, and community investigators.
Support NCCU's contributions to the Duke CTSI partnership, including workforce development initiatives and collaborative pilot projects.
