Genesis10 is currently seeking an Application Engineer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Jersey City, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing enterprise-grade applications to support core business functions. The engineer will build robust backend services using Java Spring Boot, develop responsive front-end interfaces in Angular, and integrate applications with enterprise databases. This position works across the full software development lifecycle, including architecture, development, testing, deployment, and production support, while ensuring security, scalability, and reliability. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and implement enterprise-grade applications to support business functions Build robust backend services using Java (Spring Boot 3.x) for microservices and enterprise services Develop responsive front-end interfaces using Angular for modern UI/UX applications Integrate applications with enterprise databases and services Work across the full SDLC (architecture, development, testing, deployment, and production support) Ensure security, scalability, and reliability of applications Requirements: 7-10+ years of software engineering experience Strong proficiency in Java (Spring Boot 3.x) Strong proficiency in Angular Database design and development with SQL/NoSQL (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.) Strong experience developing and integrating REST APIs, enterprise services, and event-driven systems Solid understanding of software architecture, microservices, and distributed systems Experience deploying applications to cloud or on-prem platforms; familiarity with Azure, Docker, Kubernetes Strong grasp of secure coding, authentication/authorization, data protection, and compliance in enterprise environments Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions Strong problem-solving skills and experience working in cross-functional teams Desired skills: Experience with AI/ML or LLM-based enhancements (e.g., Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, Hugging Face, LangChain) Familiarity with vector databases (Pinecone, FAISS, Milvus, or Azure AI Search) Understanding of prompt engineering, RAG, or conversational workflows Experience integrating with systems such as ServiceNow, SharePoint, internal APIs, or enterprise databases Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps) Knowledge of MLOps concepts Experience working in financial services or regulated environments Pay range: $58.26 - $66.26 per hour Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
