Medical Assistant Gaithersburg MD Pay From: $21 MUST: Experienced Medical Assistant with 3+ years of experience as a medical assistant Strong clinical and medical terminology knowledge Comfortable working a non clinical medical assistant role Answering patient phone calls Triaging phone calls Assisting with care coordination Scheduling appointments including follow ups Reviewing labs with patients Processing prescriptions and refills Entering and processing referrals Ensuring all labs and documentation has been updated in patients medical records Taking detailed phone messages Verifying insurance Obtaining pre-auths Stocking and cleaning exams rooms Maintaining logs of equipment and medication Strong medical terminology knowledge Administering EKG's, obtaining vitals, assisting with exams and procedurres DUTIES: The Medical Assistant will be responsible for but not limited to the following: Triage phone calls and phone messages Providing customer service support Assist patients with inquiries and provide clinical information Call patients to review labs Enter and process referrals Process prescriptions and medication referrals Provide patient education Provide any instructions to patients as directed by physician Ensure all related reports, labs and information is updated and available in patient's medical records Respond to pharmacy calls and call pharmacies Quadrant is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer.
