POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for alignment, development and execution of Strategic Commodity Plans for assigned commodities and execution. This includes Key Supplier Development plans and Performance and Strategic Supplier relationship management in support of Benchmark goals. Responsible to drive buy in and adoption of commodity strategy in to engineering design and manufacturing goals.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

* Develop strategic sourcing strategy to optimize cost and ensure Continuity of Supply
* Develop and drive negotiation process and strategy to achieve cost reduction goal
* Develop cost models and have a clear understanding of cost drivers
* Primary owner for the supplier relationship and, in accordance with the commodity strategy, driver supplier selection, development and overall supplier management
* Leverage suppliers capability and business opportunities at regional and global level
* Negotiate contracts and ensure contractual terms and performance scorecards are met
* Demonstrate clear understanding of the market locally, regionally and globally
* Identify thread and potential supply interruption, develop plans to reduce risk
* Drive global supply base consolidation to leverage and optimize global spend
* Develop commodity specific performance criteria and award/remove business based on strategy and supplier performance

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor of Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related field preferred, or combination of education and experience as approved by upper management.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive working experience in global supply chain/ manufacturing operations. EMS knowledge is a plus.
    * Solid market knowledge with first-hand procurement negotiation knowledge
    * Functional experience in supply chain management in global organizations
    * Strong negotiation skills to achieve cost reduction goals
    * Self-motivated, able to work independently and under pressure, able to achieve requested timing and quality of assigned tasks
    * Strong analytical and problem solving skills
    * Strong technical acumen
    * Ability to communicate at all levels including senior management, internally and externally, for effective commodity strategy execution
    * Ability to lead and facilitate supplier negotiations
    * Strong interpersonal skills
    * Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    * Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel required
    * Working knowledge of manufacturing process related to the commodity is a plus

Additional Requirements:

  • Experience managing Indirect Material & IT Infrastructure sourcing
  • Experience managing MRO and Spares procurement
  • Evaluate manufacturing platforms & software for TCO while meeting internal customer long term requirements
  • Develop partnerships w/ vendors Indirect material & IT Infrastructure
  • Develop short term and long term strategies for Indirect Material & IT Infrastructure sourcing
