Summary:

The Regional President is a critical leadership position responsible for the overall strategic direction, operational performance, financial success, and growth of a designated region within the healthcare system. This role oversees a portfolio of hospitals, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission, vision, and values while delivering exceptional patient care and achieving financial sustainability.

Responsibilities:

Region President:

*Develop and implement a comprehensive regional strategy that aligns with the organization's overall goals and objectives. *Identify growth opportunities and lead initiatives to expand the organization's footprint in the region. *Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement across all hospitals, within assigned region. *Oversee the day-to-day operations of all hospitals, within the region, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. *Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and identify areas for improvement. *Implement best practices and standardized processes to optimize operational efficiency and effectiveness. *Develop and manage the regional budget, ensuring financial sustainability and resource allocation to support strategic goals. *Monitor financial performance against budget targets and implement corrective actions as needed. *Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining or improving quality of care.

Qualifications

Education Requirements:
* Master's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field required.

Licensure/Certification Requirements:
* None required.

Professional Experience Requirements:
* Requires 12 years of progressively responsible hospital or multi-facility experience, including 10 years of leadership experience as a hospital or health system CEO.

Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
* Deep understanding of the healthcare industry, including regulatory compliance, reimbursement models, and emerging trends.
* Strong grasp of hospital operations, including patient flow, staffing, resource allocation, supply chain management, and quality improvement initiatives.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders, including employees, physicians, board members, community leaders, and regulatory bodies.
* Sharp business sense to identify growth opportunities, optimize resource utilization, and drive financial sustainability.
* Strong advocacy skills to represent the interests of the hospitals and their communities at the local, state, and national levels.
* Ability to identify and address operational challenges, develop creative solutions, and implement effective strategies to improve performance and outcomes.

This position is employed by NC Health (Rex Healthcare, Inc., d/b/a NC Health), a private, fully-owned subsidiary of UNC Health Care System, in a department that provides shared services to operations across UNC Health Care; except that, if you are currently a UNCHCS State employee already working in a designated shared services department, you may remain a UNCHCS State employee if selected for this job.
