What You'll Do:

We are seeking a Contract Writer to join our dynamic Contracts team. This is a non-attorney role focused on commercial execution, operational excellence, and contract lifecycle management. In this role, you will be responsible for drafting and managing equipment leasing contracts for Triton's global business operations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to gather information, clarify contract requirements, and draft contracts using established templates, ensuring adherence to Triton's policy and legal requirements. You will also manage the contract lifecycle, including approvals, execution, filing, and amendments/renewals. This role offers a long-term growth path within contracts, commercial operations, and contract management leadership.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, technologically proficient, particularly with contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems and AI-enabled tools and possess strong analytical skills to break down complex information, spot trends, and ask relevant questions to produce high quality and accurate documentation.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Receive requests from marketers, prepare contractual documentation for deals and provide timely responses to contract-related requests.
  • Work collaboratively with the Legal department to prepare non-standard legal clauses and other tailored contract requests.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of Triton's deal structures, product lines and commercial objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Billing department as needed to ensure accurate and timely customer billing.
  • Perform additional projects as needed.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Preferred fields of study include Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline. Relevant certifications (e.g., paralegal certification) are a plus.
  • 1-2 years of experience working in an in-house contracts, legal operations or contract administration role preferred.
  • Experience in the equipment leasing, shipping or logistics industries, or comparable experience in asset leasing, finance, or B2B commercial contracting preferred.
  • Proficiency with contract templates, contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems, and AI-enabled tools required.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills required.
  • Demonstrated commitment to building a long-term career in contracts and commercial operations (not a pre-law track).
  • Strong problem solving and analytical capabilities, with the ability to assess issues and propose practical solutions.
  • Highly responsive, organized and detail-oriented, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be at a commutable distance (within 50 miles) to the Purchase, NY office.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.

You'll Succeed Here If You Are:

  • Aligned with Triton's company values, which include Integrity, Reliability, Creativity, Excellence, Teamwork and Long-term View.
  • Able to prioritize competing demands and meet important deadlines while working well under pressure.
  • Driven and eager to learn about the container leasing business.
  • A team player who strives to communicate openly, honestly and respectfully with a diverse set of individuals.
  • Highly analytical, adept at applying and managing company policies, processes, and procedures to ensure that quality support and services are provided, and eager to implement process improvements and efficiencies to streamline workflows.
