The Program Manager (PM) is responsible for anticipating and addressing the needs of FCC patients and the overall program. Reporting to the Program Manager for the Womens Service Line, the PM partners with FCC leadership to develop innovative programs and care delivery models. This role ensures that departments achieve superior outcomes, deliver seamless care, and maintain competitive cost structures. The PM provides regular performance updates to physicians and nursing leadership, collaborates with others to support the hospitals strategic objectives including patient care, teaching, research, and community service and monitors revenue and expenses, recommending actions to improve results. They also support staff to ensure efficient operations, coordinate staffing schedules, optimize staffing models for effective patient care, and enforce policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. Additionally, the PM drives initiatives to grow market share, improve financial performance and productivity, maximize resource utilization, enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction, and maintain a competitive advantage. Additional responsibilities include providing strategic and operational leadership for Women?s Programs across Yale New Haven Health under the direction of the Program Manager for the Womens Service Line . The Program Manager partners to develop, implement, and evaluate initiatives within Women?s Specialties and Services, ensuring alignment with organizational goals for growth, quality, and safety. Acting as a clinical resource and backup for the Program Manager, this position supports program execution, optimizes hospital systems, and monitors performance metrics to enhance patient care and efficiency. Responsibilities include overseeing complex patient workflows, surgical optimization, and high-volume communication; collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and community partners; maintaining continuity of care; and fostering educational competencies across Women?s Services. The role also provides backup clinical support during staff absences and serves as a resource for key roles such as the Fetal Care Coordinator and RN Coordinators for Gynecology, Family Planning, and Urogynecology.

Responsibilities

  • 1. THE PROGRAM MANAGER WILL:
    • 1.1 Ensure that desired clinical outcomes are achieved through cost effective and efficient processes.
  • 2. UNIT OBJECTIVES
    • 2.1 Collaborates with division and unit leadership to design, develop, and implement clinically and fiscally responsive program philosophies, goals, and objectives.
  • 3. FISCAL MANAGEMENT
    • 3.1 Participates in financial forecasting and planning along with other members of the management team. Develops comprehensive analysis for financial and programmatic recommendations for division leadership utilizing consistent tools for resource analysis.
  • 4. ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP
    • 4.1 Develops customer relations' standards reflecting excellence consistent with Hospital policy for internal/external customers in collaboration with unit leadership and appropriate departments.
  • 5. CUSTOMER SATISFACTION
    • 5.1 Collaborate with YNHH/YSM Marketing/Communications departments to develop effective marketing strategies and promotional materials designed to enhance awareness and expand market share and supporting the development of community awareness activities to promote clinical programs and services.
  • 6. OUTCOMES MANAGEMENT
    • 6.1 Identifies and analyzes trends in customer service/satisfaction and provides leadership in resolving any negative trends.
  • 7. KEY INTERFACES
    • 7.1 Interacts primarily with the following external interfaces. 1. Patients 2. Families 3. Physicians

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing required. Masters Degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE

Five (5) to six (6) years experience including clinical practice experience and two (2) to three (3) years of demonstrated leadership/supervisory/management experience required.

LICENSURE

Current Connecticut State RN Nursing licensure required.

SPECIAL SKILLS

Excellent communication skills. Knowledge of and proficient in the operation and use of computer-based information systems, to facilitate all aspects of care delivery. change required.


Additional Information

Experience in Women's and/or Pediatrics/Fetal Care preferred.
