Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking an experienced Intelligence Analysis & Threat Research Project Manager to support mission-critical analytics and intelligence operations for U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

This position provides leadership and oversight for intelligence analysis, threat research, and analytic production efforts supporting border security, targeting, counter-network analysis, and emerging threat identification. The selected candidate will oversee multidisciplinary analytic teams, coordinate with Intelligence Community (IC) and CBP stakeholders, and ensure high-quality, timely, and mission-aligned intelligence deliverables.

The role requires strong program management expertise, operational intelligence experience, and the ability to manage analytic production in a secure federal environment.

Support will be provided across multiple mission locations:

    Ashburn, VA
  • Sterling, VA
  • Washington, D.C.

Key Responsibilities

Program & Project Management

  • Lead planning, execution, and oversight of intelligence analysis and threat research projects supporting CBP operational priorities.
  • Develop project plans, schedules, milestones, performance metrics, and reporting mechanisms.
  • Manage cost, schedule, scope, and risk in alignment with contract requirements.
  • Provide status reporting, executive briefings, and performance updates to CBP leadership.
  • Ensure timely delivery of analytic products that meet mission and quality standards.
  • Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies in coordination with government stakeholders.

Intelligence Analysis & Threat Research Oversight

  • Oversee analytic teams conducting:
    • Threat assessments and risk analysis
    • Network analysis and targeting research
    • Strategic and operational intelligence reporting
    • Emerging threat monitoring and trend analysis
  • Ensure analytic tradecraft standards are met, including sourcing, validation, and analytic rigor.
  • Guide research methodologies incorporating open-source, classified, and law enforcement data.
  • Support development of intelligence requirements and analytic priorities.
  • Coordinate analytic efforts across CBP mission components and IC partners.

Stakeholder & IC Engagement

  • Serve as primary interface between CBP TASPD leadership, mission users, and analytic teams.
  • Coordinate collaboration across multiple mission locations:
    • Ashburn, VA
    • Sterling, VA - National Targeting Center
    • Washington, DC - Ronald Reagan Building
  • Facilitate cross-agency coordination with Intelligence Community partners.
  • Translate operational needs into structured analytic tasks and measurable outcomes.

Governance, Security & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with DHS and CBP policies, intelligence oversight requirements, and data protection standards.
  • Support security reviews, ATO-related activities, and operational compliance efforts.
  • Maintain documentation supporting program governance and quality assurance.
  • Promote secure handling of classified and sensitive law enforcement data.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience, may have supervisory or lead experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in intelligence analysis, threat research, or national security operations.
  • 3+ years of experience in project or program management supporting federal programs.
  • Demonstrated experience managing analytic production teams in classified environments.
  • Strong understanding of intelligence lifecycle, analytic tradecraft standards, and threat assessment methodologies.
  • Experience supporting DHS, CBP, DoD, or Intelligence Community organizations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level briefings.

Clearance Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CBP suitability.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Intelligence Studies, International Affairs, National Security, Criminal Justice, Public Policy, or related field is highly preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience supporting CBP National Targeting Center operations.
  • Knowledge of counter-network analysis, transnational criminal organizations, and border-related threats.
  • Familiarity with intelligence data tools, link analysis platforms, and analytic visualization technologies.
  • Experience integrating open-source intelligence (OSINT) with classified reporting.
  • Experience supporting Agile or hybrid program management environments.

Target Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
