Summary:

The Distribution Center Supervisor plays a crucial role in providing direct oversight for distribution center team members and department operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and accurate operations. This role is responsible for driving productivity, maintaining inventory accuracy, achieving quality standards, and fostering a positive, engaged team environment. The supervisor is accountable for executing company and department goals, supporting operational excellence, and collaborating across departments to meet customer and business needs. This individual will also help develop best practices by aligning department processes between all company locations. In addition, the supervisor actively promotes and enforces safety initiatives and policies, ensuring compliance with all company standards and regulatory requirements to create a secure working environment. Their leadership should promote our culture, our 5 P's and our purpose to be our customer's competitive advantage.

Shift: 2nd shift | 12:00pm-8:30pm

Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

  • Lead, coach, and support team leads and hourly associates in achieving daily, weekly, and monthly production goals
  • Direct and adjust daily schedules, ensuring smooth handoffs between shifts and meeting cut-off times for orders
  • Oversee task queues and balance labor to meet production and delivery targets
  • Drive and enforce safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor production metrics and inventory accuracy, tracking results and variances against established benchmarks
  • Use daily reports and Excel data to find efficiencies
  • Oversee quality control procedures, ensuring orders are accurate and meet business requirements
  • Collaborate with Inside Sales, Account Managers, Purchasing, and other support teams to resolve issues and fulfill customer requests
  • Provide feedback to sales and scheduling teams to address order entry issues and late requests.
  • Manage material ordering and vendor relationships for day-to-day operational needs
  • Support non-standard service and order requests by identifying solutions and communicating with stakeholders
  • Identify staffing needs and communicate requirements to leadership to maintain optimal coverage
  • Coach and develop team members, fostering growth, providing training, and encouraging continuous improvement
  • Review and coach team members on process compliance and solution-focused problem solving
  • Facilitate timeclock management, scheduling adjustments, and planning for labor needs
  • Support equipment and building maintenance, coordinating with Central Operations and vendors for preventive maintenance and repairs
  • May provide back up support to other teams and team members within the regional distribution center.
  • Maintain high standards for cleanliness, organization, and departmental project completion
  • Operate warehouse equipment as needed (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks)

Job Requirements/Specifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or related field preferred
  • Demonstrated computer skills and ability to work with Excel documents required
  • Experience with warehouse management systems, inventory tracking, and production metrics
  • Ability to use forklift equipment required
  • Ability to lift 70 lbs required; lift 100 lbs at times
  • Knowledge of Eclipse and RF Scan is preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a warehouse or distribution environment preferred
  • Previous experience managing a team of five or more preferred
  • Proven ability to manage teams, drive results, and meet operational goals
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with process improvement tools and methodologies preferred
  • Electrical product knowledge is preferred
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, forklift operation, Six Sigma, Lean) preferred
  • Experience with cross-functional collaboration and vendor management preferred
  • Able to work a varied shift

  • Consistently standing, walking, lifting, working with others, and working indoors
  • Frequently carrying, pushing, bending at the waist, twisting upper body, reaching, working with hands & fingers, vision acuity near & far, depth perception, field of vision, vision adjustment, color vision, team lifting, customer contact, extended day, cold, heat, temperature changes, and high places
  • Sometimes sitting, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, talking, hearing, non-standard work shift, wet, humid, noise, work outdoors, and mechanical hazards
  • Occasionally crawling, driving, works alone, vibration, confined area, fumes, odors, dusts, and mists
