Job Description

Shift: 2nd shift
Schedule: 3:00 PM to 1:00 AM; M-F
Pay Rate: $22.00
Shift Premium Amount: $2.00



We are seeking a detail-oriented Material Handler (Shipping/Receiving) to join our food manufacturing team. In this pivotal role, you will manage inventory systems, coordinate raw material logistics, and ensure efficient shipping and receiving operations. The ideal candidate will maintain exceptional accuracy while supporting production goals in our fast-paced environment. This position reports directly to the Warehouse Manager.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities



  • Manage and maintain accurate inventory control systems using WMS software
  • Coordinate and execute efficient shipping and receiving operations
  • Transport finished goods from staging areas to appropriate storage locations
  • Supply and deliver raw materials to production lines to maintain optimal workflow
  • Operate material handling equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
  • Support quality assurance protocols by identifying and segregating non-conforming products
  • Maintain accurate documentation for all warehouse transactions and inventory movements
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with production, quality, and maintenance teams
  • Adhere to all food safety protocols including HACCP, GMP, and SSOP standards
  • Assist in training new warehouse personnel

Qualifications

Required:



  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Previous warehouse experience in food manufacturing (preferred)
  • Basic computer proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS)
  • Strong attention to detail and inventory accuracy
  • Ability to work safely with minimal supervision
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills



Preferred:



  • Forklift certification
  • Experience with food safety protocols (HACCP, GMP)
  • Inventory management experience
  • Knowledge of supply chain operations
  • Problem-solving abilities in fast-paced environments

  • Strict adherence to all safety protocols and proper PPE usage
  • Compliance with food safety regulations including HACCP
  • Maintenance of clean, sanitized work environment per SSOP standards
  • Commitment to quality control procedures and documentation



Work Environment
This position operates in a climate-controlled food manufacturing facility. The role requires standing for extended periods, regular lifting, and operation of material handling equipment. All employees must adhere to food safety protocols including proper PPE and sanitation procedures.
