Job Summary

Manages the procurement process by negotiating favorable terms, volume discounts, and long-term contracts with suppliers to optimize procurement value. Possesses extensive knowledge of procurement principles along with a solid understanding of related functional areas. Leads the evaluation of supplier performance and maintains professional communication with vendors, accounting personnel, and key internal and external stakeholders. May supervise purchasing staff and lead procurement initiatives. Collaborates closely with management and internal stakeholders to align sourcing strategies with organizational goals. Operates very independently, requiring little supervision.


Essential Duties

  • Leads, coaches, and trains procurement staff, may supervise team members as needed, and conducts performance management to support employee development and team effectiveness.
  • Assesses and documents supplier performance to verify compliance with established standards for quality, cost, and delivery and provides both formal and informal supplier feedback.
  • Effectively communicates and provides coaching to internal Partners on procurement processes and procedures, ensuring clarity, compliance, and operational efficiency.
  • Monitors and evaluates market conditions and trends to negotiate favorable pricing and terms with suppliers while minimizing risks and optimizing value for the company.
  • Exercises sound judgment and applies professional expertise to make informed and effective decisions throughout the supply chain.
  • Prepares and maintains all required documentation for each purchase order, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and traceability throughout the procurement process.
  • Manages third-party rental agreements, leads project-level rental bids, and ensures effective management of awards, bookings, extensions, and call-offs.
  • Manages vendor bids and evaluates proposals by key criteria such as price, delivery, and performance history.
  • Negotiates payment terms, including discounts and OEM rates. Sets purchase order terms, manages change, and oversees project buyouts, tracking related costs and usage.
  • Resolves invoice discrepancies in coordination with vendors and the accounting department and addresses delivery issues in collaboration with vendors and operational staff.
  • Coordinates with Engineering and Quality Control to address quality issues and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Collaborates closely with the receiving department and/or job site personnel to ensure timely arrival and proper handling of supplies, verifying that materials meet delivery specifications and are processed efficiently.
  • Examines field requisitions thoroughly to ensure completeness and correctness, resolving any discrepancies or omitted details as necessary and provides constructive feedback to project teams.
  • Analyzes purchase order history to identify trends related to productivity, lead times, and procurement efficiency.
  • Coordinates the release of submittal documentation from suppliers to the project manager and project team, ensuring timely and accurate delivery. Provides clear and detailed guidance to suppliers regarding the required format and content of submissions.
  • Develops and implements purchasing policies for the business unit and ensures strict adherence to established guidelines, promoting consistency, compliance, and operational efficiency across procurement activities.
  • Recommends major material purchases based on anticipated price fluctuations or unusual availability conditions. May lead strategic purchasing initiatives to capitalize on market opportunities and support long-term procurement goals.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field is preferred.

Minimum certifications/license preferred of the position

Minimum of 3 years' experience in procurement, supply chain, or a related role.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities preferred of the position

  • Expertise in procurement, supported by comprehensive sourcing, and supply chain knowledge.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities.
  • Excellent time management and task prioritization.
  • Exhibits initiative, maintains a positive attitude, and consistently demonstrates a strong work ethic.
  • Seasoned negotiator with an impressive record of securing favorable terms.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to teach, mentor and lead other partners.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with advanced Excel knowledge and possess familiarity with purchasing ERP systems.
