As a Sr. Automation Tester I, you'll design, develop, and execute automated test scripts to ensure software systems are reliable, secure, and compliant with federal standards, with the goal of making an impact across the federal government. Our delivery team is responsible for ensuring the quality, security, and performance of mission-critical government systems, and you'll collaborate closely with developers and stakeholders in an Agile environment to identify defects, improve test coverage, and integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines-helping strengthen the reliability and scalability of systems that support federal operations.

What you'll do:



  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts for web, API, and/or desktop applications
  • Execute automated and manual test cases to validate system functionality, performance, and security
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives)
  • Collaborate with development teams to identify, document, and track defects using approved tools
  • Perform regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing (UAT) support
  • Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and test reports in compliance with government documentation standards
  • Ensure applications meet federal compliance requirements (e.g., accessibility, security, performance)
  • Support CI/CD pipeline integration for automated testing
  • Analyze test results and provide detailed reporting to project stakeholders
  • Assist in test data management and environment setup


What you'll need to succeed:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in software testing and test automation
  • Experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Python, C#, JavaScript)
  • Experience testing RESTful APIs using tools such as Postman, RestAssured, or similar
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git)
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC processes
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to obtain or maintain required government security clearance


SALARY RANGE: $115,000 - $133,000

The salary range for this position is determined based on qualifications, skills, and relevant experience. The final salary offered will be determined based on several factors including:



  • The candidate's professional background and relevant work experience
  • The specific responsibilities of the role and organizational needs
  • Internal equity and alignment with current team compensation
  • This role is also eligible for additional compensation, subject to the terms and policies of MetroStar, which may include:


    • Performance-based bonuses
    • Company-paid training and/or certifications
    • Referral bonuses
