Acara Solutions is looking to hire multiple individuals strong electrical theory and equipment repair experience to join our Palo Alto manufacturing client.
This role is Direct Hire with great benefits and offers a 75-95k salary.
YOUR DAY TO DAY (Role Summary)
This role is ideal for technically strong Senior Equipment Technicians or hands-on electrical professionals who enjoy hands-on problem solving, system-level troubleshooting, and working close to the physics of high-voltage and RF systems. You'll operate at the intersection of engineering, manufacturing, and test by supporting complex equipment where deep understanding matters more than routine execution.

You will work within our engineering and manufacturing team to support advanced electronic and electro-mechanical systems crucial to our product lines. Your role will involve hands-on technical work, including system support, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of high-voltage DC power and high-power modulator systems. This position requires a strong technical background in analog and digital electronics, as well as expertise with high-voltage equipment and control systems.
YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR (Responsibilities)
  • Maintenance & Support: Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and operational support for high-voltage DC power supplies, high-power modulator systems, and other electronic equipment in a manufacturing environment, ensuring optimal performance. Partner closely with Engineering on prototype bring-up, failure analysis, root cause investigations, and supporting design-for-reliability improvements across high-voltage and power systems.
  • Fabrication & Assembly: Fabricate and assemble components for prototypes, and assist with experimental apparatus setup, testing, and adjustments.
  • System Repair: Conduct modifications, maintenance, and repair of electronic systems, ensuring adherence to quality standards and safety protocols.
  • Component-Level Troubleshooting: Apply a strong foundation in analog and digital electronic theory to troubleshoot down to the component level.
  • Control System Diagnosis: Diagnose and repair issues with PLC control systems, with a focus on troubleshooting, diagnostics, and system interaction rather than PLC programming or controls ownership, to maintain efficient system operation.
  • Test Equipment Proficiency: Use multimeters, oscilloscopes, RF test equipment, and high-voltage equipment for accurate system diagnostics and repair.
  • High-Voltage Systems Expertise: Work safely and confidently with high-voltage systems, ensuring compliance with all safety protocols.
  • Performance Assessment: Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and control systems to assess electronic systems' performance.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with engineering teams to support continuous improvement initiatives for product and process optimization.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow established safety protocols rigorously, including high-voltage work practices, lockout/tagout (LOTO), stored energy discharge procedures, and two-person safety rules, contributing to a safe, efficient work environment.
  • Adaptability: Work extended hours as necessary to support production schedules and project timelines.
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience maintaining and repairing high-voltage electronic equipment in a manufacturing, semiconductor, defense, or similar environment.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in Electronics, Electrical Technology, or related field; Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is a plus.
  • Proven ability to perform bench-level circuit troubleshooting and electrical verification.
  • Hands-on proficiency with oscilloscopes, HV probes, RF test equipment, and related diagnostic tools.
  • Experience with PLCs and industrial automation systems.
  • Strong knowledge of analog and digital electronics, power systems, and control circuits.
  • Skilled in root-cause failure analysis and corrective action methods.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Safety-first mindset with demonstrated experience working under high-voltage protocols.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance is a plus.
